So my 2025 has both the map light and the bed lights switches set to door. But the lights wont turn on when any door is open. However the dash indicates the door is open and the lights function if i set the switches to on. So its not a door switch or a fuse.

Am i missing some setting?

Are your lights set to "Door" on the center top controller?

So Toyota had the truck for half a day and could not fix it. Like most dealerships they waste time going down your aftermarket wiring rabbit hole as it a connection to B+ , B- and IGN is going to destroy the cars electrical system.

Seems i need to make another appointment to leave the truck there. Well I guess I’ll need to uninstall the three aftermarket wires so the tech can stay focused.

That is a good idea. Dealers jump on any excuse to avoid taking care of our trucks, so why give them ammunition?

Do the lights all turn on if you move the switch to the "ON" position?

Did your lights ever turn on with the doors opening?

What exactly have you done for DIY wiring? What wiring on the truck did you touch?

So I was about to get the truck ready to bring it back to the dealer for the day or two that they recommended to troubleshoot it. Then I figured out the problem. Within the lighting controls of the truck you must have the auto off timer set. If the auto off timer set off, the dome light will not come on. You have to set it for at least 7.5 seconds or more for the dome light to come on when the door opens.

Great job Toyota on this very intuitive menu. Great job for the dealer for not knowing this.

yes they turn on from the switch. My wiring attaches to the battery + and battery - on the battery itself and connects via a fuse tap to ign. No wires are cut anywhere. But apparently this confused the dealer

Thumbs up for figuring it out. Always satisfying when it's something lame and not detrimental
