I have been watching to see when this would finally be released. The factory didn't make it easy to implement I see. Great looking product but that install is really involved. I still think it would be worth it in the long run.​

However. Quite possibly the worst produced video i have ever seen. The person doing the installer in the video, made the install look like a horror show.

I'm not sure the video is even a vendor produced video. It just looks like some random guy doing the installation. IMHO if he can do it, anyone can do it (no shade to the content creator intended). If you look at the written instructions it looks like a pretty easy install. Pull off some interior panels, plug in the controller, run to a power source, put it all back together. Nothing I haven't done a time or ten.

If you're in the Seattle area maybe we host an install event at my house and do two or three at the same time (I live at the base of Stevens Pass about 45 minutes from Seattle). DM me if you're interested, although I should say it may be a bit before I have time due to currently spending a good portion of my time in Portland caring for my mother-in-law....

I've had other locked vehicles that would lock up in 2wd. In some cases you don't really need 4wd, and having the rear locked is more than enough to get up a hill or through some sand.

If someone has honestly never said to themself "damn, I wish I could engage my locker", this product probably isn't worth the hassle.

And personally, I may not even do it. I'll absolutely wait to see how the product does after some time on the market. It's sending spoofed signals to the truck's 4wd computer so if the aftermarket part were to fail and take out the 4wd computer, that would be an out of pocket replacement since the warranty would be denied.

My personal reasons:

2wd donuts and drifting on wet asphalt or snow
4hi snow drifting

Realistically that's about it.


For some others who may live in the SW:

4hi desert/sand running at speed (but not with an 8 speed auto trans, because heat soak).

Why are companies so terrible at naming things? The ad copy is atrocious as well. Reads like AI generated slop with every jargon/cringe word tossed in. Then that video... wow.

Love my Tacoma, but I do miss how easy it was to program things on my Jeeps with the Tazer to unlock stuff like this and set gear ratios/tire sizes. You could do all of that in about 30 seconds start to finish.

Just what I need, lol, another great way to spend $250.
This year is capped out on spending, but I can see that being a great birthday present in February.
Looking forward to see how it performs in the snow.
Final part of my build this year is the backwoods high clearance hybrid bumper with a full bull bar. A Warn 12K Eva winch with factor 55 ultra hook. A full set of RCI skids, and lastly a set of 8 Diode Dynamics rock lights.
Pacific Upfitters in Troutdale Oregon will be doing the install on this project .
