Why would someone do that?

Have you seen the price of gas lately? lol. But in all seriousness, it's easier to drill than siphon due to the rollover/anti-siphon valves in most fuel tanks these days.

I removed the cheap plastic skid cover over my Pro tank and installed an RCI aluminum skid plate. Makes it quite difficult for thieves to access the tank too.

So Monday I go to leave for work and make it like 100 feet up the road and smell gasoline. I turn around and get home and look and I'm spilling gas from my tank.

I call the cops they decided just fill out the form online. I get towed to my dealership and call insurance not knowing what to do. I was pissed and beat down. I paid my deductible and got her fixed right. Put up a 24/7 recording camera not motion only they didn't trip and record. The dealership to my amazement got it on Monday insurance guy approved it on Tuesday and had a new gas tank installed on wendsday.

That is convincing the to get fuel tank shield to prevent from idiots drilling a hole on the fuel tank. I have locking fuel cap.

That's ridiculous, all that damage and effort for just a few bucks worth of fuel. Sorry that happened to you, something similar happened to my brother's Miata when he was towing it cross-country.

To Me, it seems the hole is in a strange place to get a container under - with that corner there.... Maybe someone was screwing with you ??

Update now the truck is being recorded 24/7 by 2 camers in its spot no motion activated camera that didn't work.
