I'll preface this by saying - I have no idea what I'm talking about.

From what I've seen with other CAI intakes is that they mess with your MAF sensor, so more than likely you're running slightly lean, thus why you're seeing an increase.

Impossible. All Scam K&N does is let most dirt in to your engine. And noise. They are junk. This is a known thing.
So your telling if you took your factory air filter out and had No restriction what so ever you'd get seventy to a hundred more miles per tank? Impossible. Your factory Air filter/ intake was designed to provide more air then that small engine could ever use. K&N has been a scam for a lot of years. Great if you like a lot of dirt entering your engine though. Good job.!

I only use TRD air filters in my Tacoma! I have a spare likewise...

Before I picked up my new Tacoma a year ago, I already had the TRD filter installed.

I once told my old mechanic that I wanted to put a K&N filter on my '07 Tundra to improve performance. He said that if I ever did that he would not work on the vehicle ever again. He said the Toyota engineers knew what they were doing with their designs; not so with K&N.

My TrailHunter has a K+N style filter. Unfortunately, no pleated filter available.
