After seeing the numerous posts about the anemic 4th gen 12v system on the hybrid models, has any of used a winch for a real world recovery?

I'm interested in knowing if there's enough juice to run one before I pull the trigger on a 10K?

Hey! I have a 25 Pro with a 10k winch hooked up to an SDHQ power relocation kit. Used the winch last week to pull out my coworkers work truck. It worked flawlessly! Hope that helps

Yes Sir, thank you! Any after affects on your 12v battery?

I normally swap in a bigger AGM battery on previous vehicles when I add a winch. Great news that the Pro is handling it. Does yours have the alternator?

I have a 12k winch on my TH but I haven’t had to do a recovery yet. I did pull the truck with light brake pressure to tension the synthetic line onto the reel with zero problems. Where did you get this information about an anemic 12v system?

I got the anemic part from everyone who has reported on this forum their batteries dying after sitting just a couple of days and having to jump start with a jump box.

I’ve had my truck for almost a year now and I have never had a problem with it starting although it’s rare that it sits more than a couple of days. FYI I wired the winch directly to the battery with 20’ of 2 awg cable with a solenoid interrupt, wired to one of the auxiliary switches. Good luck with your installation and I would be happy to answer any questions.

So this relocation just runs from the battery in the back, and I assume you can 1) connect the winch to it, and 2) charge the battery. Correct? Did you buy their cables, or others? There are cheaper options unless they require their cables.

Yessir! It runs to the standard starter battery under the back seat. You can connect whatever accessories you have to the terminals that are mounted under the hood.

So far no negative effects. I run the winch with the truck on but run my fridge off of an outlet i installed in the bed. It’ll run for a couple hours before my fridges auto voltage drop meter turns itself off.
I’m not sure if I have an alternator tbh. I’ve never paid attention to it lol.

A bit expensive, but pretty cool. It looks like you have to buy it in three parts, cables, and the other parts for the engine compartment. Is that correct, and do you have a link? Sorry for so many questions, but I plan on a winch and I'm getting tired of raising the seat to charge the battery.

It definitely wasn’t cheap but well worth it for what I have planned for the truck. Ifigured it was a buy once, cry once kinda thing. It’s been one of the best mods I’ve done as far as future proofing the truck.

You don’t have to buy it in parts. They sell it as a whole kit already put the together. It took me a couple hours to install in my driveway. Victory 4x4 sells something similar as well but looked a little cheap imo.
