In 2 weeks Pacific Upfitters in Troutdale Oregon will be installing one of the first Backwoods Adventure high clearance overland bumper with a Warn evo 12k winch with synthetic line, and Factor 55 ultrahook, along with a full set of 8 Diod Dynamics rock lights. Lastly for this one mod a full set of RCI skids.

tune is, dollar for dollar, best mod you can do for your truck. makes it run like it's supposed to, not gimped to make the sticker spout some EPA crap, it "unlocks" your engine, that you bought, and drive every day.

I understand the performance improvement, I’m old, (75), but I grew up in an era where cams, Holley 4 barrels, headers were what we changed, but now, I seek other reasons, thus mpg?

Otherwise from what I have - long bed TRD OR - a bigger gas tank would get my vote. I'm doing trail building and ski area crew work often. Off road more than all sorts of overlander bro look vehicles I see in same places and it works well. Without mods and money wasting I've done in the past it also leaves me with a light truck with good road manners and handling towing.

At a small and as needed price all I have to do for more fuel mileage and power is the occasional trip to a farmer's co-op that sells the high octane without ethanol.

only one single mod?... honestly probably just tint the windows. But if you don't count that as a mod, then it would definitely be a bed cover - and that bed cover would almost definitely be a DiamondBack.

Agree, my practical experience tells me the same, just want to understand all the various opinions. Rare is the case when an individual spends money on a modification and then provides negative comments.
