I hear it all the time when the engine is cold, regardless of time of day. Once the engine warms up, it's hard to replicate. I hear it first thing in the morning, and after work. But if I'm running errands I do not the chirp.

yes, my next plan is to leave it overnight to they can drive it cold. it's just so much extra effort.

My surefire way to get it to chirp is to do the key fob auto start after its been sitting overnight.

mine doesn't chirp on startup though, only under load. the most likely (but not only) time for it to happen is accelerating from a stop when the engine is still cold.

I am at 35,700 miles. Just dropped my truck off for the 4th time for the chirp fix. Gave them the number.

Doubt the guy is on here, but there was one dude on FB that getting it replaced under the TSB may have fixed the chirp, but introduced a terrible clicking while running.

Well, picked my truck up after completion of the TSB. This is the second clutch installed in the 2 years I have had the truck, but the part number for the clutch for the TSB is different, so I assume something changed.

Either way. First time starting the truck without a double chirp in months. Oddly enough, while waiting on my keys, I heard a double chirp after a vehicle started. Turned to look. Shocker, a Tacoma.

It took about 6 weeks for the chirp to return on the last clutch. Hopefully, it stays gone now.

I have had this chirp on start up since day one on my 2025 TRD O/R. I never really thought much about it as I thought it would wear in over time. But it is still there at 5k miles. Weird coincidence, but my 2014 Lexus ES350 has had a similar chirp that goes away after a belt change for a year or two but has always came back- I live with it because I don't see an issue but perhaps with the Taco I will let the dealer give it a shot to fix.

i know the guys in my local parts department so i ordered mine before going in this week for my 20k service and to get it confirmed. my service writer was confused when i told her that the part was already ordered since they confirmed the noise in the service drive.

part is currently on backorder until mid june is what i was told.

Had my 2024 take care of at 35k on the clock. I had complained before, so it was on record - originally claimed it was the high pressure fuel pump. Anyway, it was the first one they had seen and a couple of hour job turned into 2.5 days w/out my truck. There weren’t any issues, but they said they wanted to take their time and do it correctly the first time. I had a rental, so no problem. No more chirping.

Just got mine done.. no more annoying chirp.. truck runs great.. they kept overnight cause they said the part in the tsb was superseded and was back ordered but they were able to get it from a nearby dealership that had one in stock from a customer that probably didnt show up for his appointment for the same issue. I think my ac was constanly on before cause now when the ac is off it doesnt blow cold air like before. Part alone is $600.. get urs fixed sooner than later if you have this issue

I didn't know this was a TSB until today when I took it it for the chirp noise and I'm out of warranty @46k. These scumbags quoted 1800$ Irwin Toyota, service advisor Joe Collie, your my hero. First Toyota / last Toyota. Unbelieveable, they don't warranty a known issue?

BTW, the chirp gets worse!! You will eventually feel it when accelerating.

Interesting to know. I have never heard this on mine. I feel a little lucky with my truck as I don't seem to have any of the little problems I read about. Only big annoyance I have is my phone will randomly not connect when starting the truck. The screen always says that my phone isn't available, even when I had just used my phone for remote start.

Another annoyance is the HUD position will drop all the way to the lowest position after so many start ups.

Just went on a 1000 mile road trip. Chirp much worse. Need to replace ASAP. Anyone replace this yet? Dealer 1800$ cost is STUPID expensive/

Are you guys only hearing it on initial startup or every time the compressor cycles? I only hear it on initial startup. 1 chirp and that's it. Maybe because the windows are up or I just have bad hearing? I never hear anything from the vent area inside the truck.
