Apparently you dropped out of school. Carry on chief.
Wow the anger this thread is generating. Look closely genius. It’s one trip, a there & back. Numbers are correct. The out trip was 25. Still excellent and the f you’re gonna get prevent me from being stoked.

I actually believe he gets that mpg. I can get 50 mpg with my civic. It has a turbo. If I drive 45 mph in a 55mph zone, I can get that mpg. It's possible, but not practical hyper-miling to that level. No fun either, unless you get off bragging about your mpg under very specific circumstances.... Do your trip to Moab, if you want to drive that same style, I think you'll get very good mpg. No offense, the doubters aren't attacking you. I think DennisD was fair in asking for same sets of circumstances with and without the airdam. Just a tip: try replying like a grown-up.

I completely agree. The irony is that to achieve this kind of mileage, you’d need to slow down—and at lower speeds the air dam’s effect is pretty much negated anyway.

I only care about a 400mi tank on a stock/similar curb weight TH and @ near speed limit & traffic flow. All these numbers & trip screen shots I’m tossing up are within traffic flow in my city & front range / only 300mi in the bag on this air dam.

I don’t really care about splitting hairs or wind tunnels or cloning conditions. I modded a cheap part, it’s supplemental to other shit you can do to achieve good fuel economy. Nobody here is an authority on Toyota aerodynamics & engineering.

So when you say, "I only care" all I am hearing is that you don't give a "dam"..........................

I just couldn't resist the pun.:)

In any case, like I have said before as long as you are happy that is all that counts.

After all, you are the one that puts the gas in the tank.

But just a word to the wise, if you start a thread on something that you fully know people will not agree with, come to the table with "thick skin" and not take it personal.

Jus sayin'

And to think that I doubted you. 🤔

If my calculations are correct, at this rate, you should be at 44.6 by the end of December.

Keep us posted sir. You and your air dam are proving the "haters" wrong with these screen shots.

10.7mi/25min = 25.7mph, pretty sure we can all get that kind of mileage
That's the problem with posting short "trips"; they're not statistically accurate. There are too many variables over a true trip to claim mileage based on 10 mile trips. Aero also won't come into play at neighborhood speeds.

I didn't believe the trip computer, so I started to use Fuelly again after 2 months of owning the truck to log my trips, which requires full fill-ups to do the traditional miles/full tank gallons calculation. Found my trip computer is pretty accurate over a full tank's driving.

I'm averaging 26.3 mpg for the last 3 months on my stock SR5, with the last 3 tanks giving me 28.2/290, 28.5/424, 27.8/222 mpg/miles on four ~6 hour trips. I still have the front air dam, added mud flaps and a tonneau cover 2 weeks after I bought it.

Best trip has been 29.2 mpg, best tank was 424 miles.

I'm at 3 mpg better than my '12 2.7L 2WD AC Tacoma did over 4 years of Fuelly tracking. I drove that truck very calmly, gave it to my son with 235,000 miles in April when I bought this one. He can't believe what good shape it's in.

Another excellent day on the water / traffic on the front range is always ass, got a decent stretch above 60mph but in reality it's a 70/30 mix of city/hwy with random slow downs & road construction. Encouraged tho, will likely cross my combined goal before full-send w/the double chin on sustained hwy driving out in the middle of nowhere.

Drive like you own it, slow the fk down in those school zones, stay positive and no bitchin' ladies.

Just got my 2025 last week and i already ordered a high clearance bumper because i wanted an actual effective Bull bar and not a decoration. gonna be a couple months before i get it though but i'm already looking at installing a custom-made air dam because the high bumper completely exposes the front wheels, won't be doing an serious off roading apart from dirt roads so clearance isn`t all that critical for me, but having something to prevent the truck getting busted because a deer decided to cross the road at the wrong moment was. gonna probably join up the air dam with the skidplate at the front. since i have the full protection kit the underbelly is going to be pretty smooth so air drag isn`t going to be that much of an issue there and hiding the wheels is going to make a good difference on mileage. even thinking of making it modular, go down lower in the summer and keep it higher in winter so it doesn`t drag in the snow. will probably post pics once i've started that build... in the meantime it`s been in the shop all week to have the 3M film installed from end to end so it doesn`t get dinged by the rocks

My 2 favorite threads are this one and the guy who wanted to lower his TRD Pro because it was too high for him.

Thanks for posting this, I was wondering what the spoiler might do for range. It's undeniable that they do affect aerodynamics, the question is, how much. Really looking forward to your results at 1000 miles.

Honestly if I can keep it close to stock L/100km I'll be happy. The off-road doesn't have the air dam to begin with so it most certainly won't hurt. My original idea was to just have the air dams in front of each wheel a bit like snake fangs, but if I join up with the skid plates it will probably be a lot more efficient probably going to go aluminum in front of the wheels and rubber with either steel or aluminum strips for rigidity for the "linking" part, could also use carbon fiber
