We've all had that moment.

You load up the bed, hit the road, and somewhere along the way, someone just stops and stares. Maybe even pull out their phone.

That's the moment we want to hear about.

Drop your story (and your photo if you've got one):

• What were you hauling?

• Where were you headed?

• What was the reaction?

Doesn't matter if it was a full set of lumber, a vintage motorcycle, four kayaks and a generator, or something we couldn't even begin to guess. If it turned heads, it counts.

This thread is brought to you by Michelin × TreadAuto. You trust Michelin to keep your truck on the road, now trust them to protect what's in the bed.

Our daughter? My wife? There have been funny moments. Young MTB riding dudes embarrassed that chick riding fast could have been their mom. Hotel breakfasts, ski trips, a spa or pub with our daughter and the dudes realize she's with her dad.

Everything I tow gets looks. All but the A100 I was dragging home from market place or craigslist. I've never drove commercially, it's just an addiction that's dragged me across about half the country. From Ohio to California, although not yet made it to the east coast or the Northwest. I've unfortunately lost most of the pictures I once had on one of those particular trips. Overheated my phone so bad it fried the SD card and apparently I had also stopped syncing to the cloud.

Some missing notables were a Triumph chopper from the 70s from Witchita, a 1973 Roadrunner and 63 Dart coupe from California, a 1972 GTX from Indiana, another 1973 Roadrunner from southern Illinois, a freshly restored Ford 2N tractor from Northern Illinois, and a ton of others I can't be bothered to list.

That’s quite a collection that survived. Love it so much! Are you a restorer?

The Bean attracts a lot of attention.

Looks like someone needs new rear coil Springs to haul the load you are hauling? You definitely have lost all your ground clearance in the rear, especially if you have that stupid exhaust, still sticking out. 😆.
I ran into the same problem with mine. Even with upgraded rear coils Dobson 819s with the loads I carry, is making me to look at air bags. Especially since I already have onboard air.

Thanks…Air Lift bags should solve it when I get around to it. We might replace coils too—or put Sumo coil springs in the existing coils. That will help firm up pavement driving. Sumo coil springs (not bump stops) really helped our Outback Wilderness as a partial solution to sag. Link and pic below.

This is a Trailhunter with axle dump trail exhaust so we don’t have the bulky, low-hanging TRD exhaust.

Less restore, more roadkill. The RC for instance came home and immediately got its heart ripped out and replaced with one from a 99 Ram that wax converted to carb, then a sniper system and I just drive it as is. I'm currently doing pans in it but it probably will never be truly restored. More of a driving project that will get restomoded.

Sounds like you’ve been hauling some pretty unforgettable “cargo”! 😄 Not quite truck bed stuff, but definitely head-turning. Love it!

That’s quite an impressive list 👍 It sounds like you’ve traveled all over the country over the years with a lot of experience. It’s a real shame those photos were lost, they must have been very precious memories.

Haha yeah, it's definitely working hard back there 😄
Airbags are probably the next upgrade on the list to keep it sitting a bit more level under load.
