Hello all,

Model: 2026 Tacoma SR5 2.4L 4-Cyl. Turbo Engine 4-Wheel
Drive 5-ft. bed Double Cab 7540U
Engine: i-FORCE 2.4L 4-Cyl. Turbo Engine
Transmission: 8-Speed Automatic Transmission

this is Harry, based out of DFW texas and my first post here.. Nice to see some good discussions here and lot of info. I got my truck today and loving it.. i got it for $39K OTD + $1300 (Platinum extended warranty with free oil changes for 6 years, i know this is junk but i know i can cancel it in next 2 days, just got it to make them happy and let me get out of the dealership soon)

Also i got below included in same price:
  • Lifetime Window Tint $400
  • ZAKTEK Paint Protection $299
  • Clear Shield $300
P.S> i am not sure if this is an awesome price but if you need one for same OTD, PM me, and i can hook you with sales person for same config as they have another one in lot and quarter end, they are aggressive.

I am doing my research but thought i can get some additional help and feedback here for..

1) Any suggestions on Tonneau cover please. I am going to use the truck mostly for camping and all but nothing fancy.. Looking at Oedro (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D475GHMJ) but not sure how these are.

2) Also do i need mud guards? I am in texas and may drive on mud roads

3) Any Bed mat suggestions (saw this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0GLGZLGZR/) but wasn't sure if any better ones ..

Thank you in advance.
Harry

Welcome. :fistbump:

The following are a few suggestions for accessories.

I think a set of flaps are a good idea. Modern paints are applied thinner than previous.

I purchased this bed mat.

https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/thre...-2024-tacoma-4th-gen.19598/page-2#post-262477

I use the rear bench seat more for storage than people. I purchased a Weathertech seat protector.

Left on its own, winter-after-winter, my front plate would be blasted blank. I installed a cover to keep it nice. The cover, I can polish that as needed. This one fits like factory, looks like factory. Paint Protection Film is something you might want to consider, especially on the forward-facing areas of the truck.

If you decide to do your own oil changes, Fumoto has a valve that makes those easier, cleaner.

For security, faraday pouches are a nice pick. They'll prevent someone from performing a relay attack using your fob, then taking the truck. The pouch will also prevent any unnecessary interaction with the fob when not in use, keeping the battery in the fob (or the truck) from being drained.

What is your budget for a tonneau cover? Depending on what you are willing to spend I can suggest a few different tiers of options.

Dealer tonneaus are just rebadged Bakflip tonneaus. The quality is good and you can get them for a good price online when they have accessory promos. You could also just get them straight from Bakflip/Real Trucks at around the same price or maybe less. Prices will range depending on if you want a soft fold, soft roll up or hard fold cover. You can also find quite a few budget tonneaus available from many different brands but the quality is hit or miss. Some can be incredible for the price, others are kinda junk.

If money is no question, I would honestly recommend the Diamondback Switchback 2.0. It really is an incredible cover that you can mount things to the top of which can especially come in handy when camping. I would have bought this cover if I didn't get a Leer cap. But if you just want something to protect the content stored in your bed, the OEM soft roll tonneau is a good option for the price.

As for mudflaps, I would either go for the Canadian OEM flaps or get the Ark mud flaps. The Ark ones come in multiple different size options depending on the look and amount of protection you want and give a little extra space to allow for larger tires if you ever planned to upgrade.

Bed mat, its pricey but I love the quality of the OEM one. Its a fairly heavy and thick mat which helps protect the bottom of the bed and its also nonslip. It also seems really durable so it can withstand abuse.

Mudflaps: Ark, Rokblokz, tuff skins are all awesome.

Bed mat: let me talk to the company but I got one for a review and I accidentally got the wrong size, if they don't want it back you can just pay for shipping and I'll send it

Tonneau: on a budget I got an eBay roll up for less than $100 and it was great. Seemed like the same hardware as all the Amazon brands. If you're gonna spend money, diamondback switchback 2.0 looks awesome.

As for the faraday pouch, I prefer to just disable my fobs when not in use. It's simple to do, and that way you don't have to carry the pouch.
