Howdy folks. Long time Tacoma owner. I've had a few of them over the years. Just recently sold off my Corolla and '13 Tacoma RC and replaced them with a 2026 SR Extra Cab.

Finding this trim was basically impossible. Had to order it. Took almost 2 months. Picked her up May 19th. I really like. I plan to keep it bone stock.

Nice, I wish I could get the access cab with the manual transmission. I love my SR, although by now it’s pretty far from stock. Still mostly all OEM+ stuff though.

Enjoy the new truck.

Nice truck!
Years ago a good friend bought one equipped just like yours...bare necessities, just a good reliable truck. Everytime I see one like this it reminds me of him and I have to smile. Enjoy your new truck!

Thanks everyone. Glad to be here. I have only 2 things I would change about it...one, it's 2026 and still no locking fuel door (1st world problem, I know) and two, I would have preferred a manual transmission. But to do that in the SR would have required me to move to a double cab, short bed, 4WD, none of which I was interested in. That said, the 8 speed auto is smooth and responsive. I have zero complaints about the powertrain, even with the detuned engine. Plenty of power and worlds more refined than my 3rd gen 3.5/auto combo.

This whole thing started back in January when I suggested it to my wife. She was on board. We looked at several models, sports, off roads, SR5s, even a TRD PreRunner. But all the while I kept looking at these 4 white SR extend cabs sitting in the back. Turned out they were fleet orders for Orkin Pest Control. For some reason I liked the clean, simple look and the lines of the extended cab and the steel wheels. I don't know why. I'm sure some people think I'm weird for it.

Then I quickly realized the impossibility of actually finding one of these unicorns. Even when listed in an ad they aren't actually available. My dealership could not find one within a 600 mile radius. So the sales manager was super cool and said let's sit down and see what we can do. He was able to find this white one in what's known as "A-status" at the Guanajuato plant, which means it scheduled to be built at some point but is literally just in pieces. They only come in 3 colors, white, silver and red. I wasn't picky. He put his name on it and claimed it. Because it hadn't been built I was able to tweak a few things on the build sheet. We added all weather floor mats, a bed mat and mudgaurds. Don't ever let a dealership tell you that you can't order one. It just takes one willing to take a few minutes to put forth the effort.

The only ones I've even seen are always company trucks, hence my screen name. My wife sometimes calls it "Pop-A-Lock"....LOL.
