Wavemaker got sold, but probably for the better because I'm not sure how much I'd love the color long term.

Have worked a couple deals on two other pros. Still on the fence because of price in general, but probably going for one of these:

2026 TRD pro, black, 0 miles, $60,600 with standard Toyota warranties.

2024 TRD pro, 6k miles, $55k, remainder of standard warranties + 7 year / 100,000 mile CPO warranty.

No add ons on either besides a screen protector on the new one.

I don't believe there are any differences from '24 to '26, but am unsure.

Love the black, but also my ioniq5 was black and that baby was hard to keep clean and scratch free.

Anything else I'm not thinking about ?

When was it first sold? You’ve potentially lost most of the 3-yr comprehensive warranty and 20% of the hybrid battery warranty (if you plan on keeping it long term) for $5000. So, it’s a question on how much you value those (and engine break in).

You can always wrap the black with a wavemaker-like color except for the roof to match the TRD Pro two tone styling. Protect from scratches and can change the color if you tire of it.

But at this point of time, has the new truck bug bitten you and you just don’t want yours anymore? It seems to have gone from “great deal on a color I love” to “I just want a TRD Pro”.

I've wanted the pro since the beginning but refused to pay $70k when I was shopping last year.

At a point now where I'll buy it. Love wavemaker, but not enough to pay a markup on it. Originally wanted a black truck but went blue to save money with the SR5.

Funny suggestion about the wrap. My wife said "I don't know if you'll love that color long term. I think you should buy black and wrap it in wavemaker" haha

Mostly I'm curious about any differences in model year. My understanding is there aren't any differences, correct ?

Double check me on this...but I believe the 2024 model year does NOT have an alternator and has 3 aux switches. On the 2026 model I believe 4 aux switches and it does have an alternator.

AI says this isn't true, but it's wrong all the time! I do remember seeing something about this on the forum

I’ve definitely read that earlier Trailhunters don’t have one, and that might’ve been generalized to all the hybrid tacos.

Trying to decide if I care about this 😂
Traction battery would just charge the 12v, no ? What's it matter if it has an alternator ?

Complaints that if you mostly drive shorter grocery runs it’ll drain the 12V with dealers saying “just put it on a trickle charger.”

Hm

Hm. Wonder why. My EVs didn't have those issues and they charge the 12v from the traction battery. Wouldn't just carrying a jump pack be sufficient ?
Anyways, still has me leaning to the '26. That. And color. And having a deal signed. Super sick of talking to salespeople lol
