Rusting bolt. Is this a problem?

I just noticed that a bolt connecting part of my rear suspension is rusting pretty badly. Is this something that will be a problem down the road and I need to report to Toyota and get replaced? This is a 2025 Tacoma TRD Off Road.

Unless you're going to coat every bolt end, this is normal.

Give it a squirt of WD-40 and you'll sleep better. But it's normal.

Go drive offroad for a while and you won't even see the rust cause it'll be covered in dirt

That's really nothing, there's hardware on my truck that got a little coat of rust like that the first time I washed it (since it never got rained on, California)

We've found one application of axle grease provides several years or more of rust protection. Applied axle grease on boat trailers that we regularly dropped into salt-water---worked great. Although it won't last as long, spray-on Fluid Film works great, too. Our Limited has a coating on the inside of the main frame rails that feels/looks very much like Fluid Film

I had a fun time removing those nutes when I swapped out my rear springs. It was much easier the second time around when I put the stock springs back on

I noticed mine was exactly the same after about a month brand new and just assumed it’s normal surface rust and not a problem. It is a little shocking though when you see that on a truck with 300 miles but it’s fine.
