Stereo lock out

OK, I need help, I disconnected my battery and when I hooked it back up my head unit went into privacy lock password required. I don't remember setting a password and now my stereo won't work. Have an appointment at the dealer, but they've never seen it before so they're not sure what to do about it. Anybody have any suggestions?

Well if you didn't in fact steal the vehicle, you may be able to unlock it via the app if you have that. Otherwise it seems like you have to call Toyota or visit the dealership for them to use a Techstream device to unlock it.

This is all according to Google.

nope, didn't steal it paying dearly for it. I stopped by the dealership to see if it was an easy fix, and none of the techs have seen it before.

The PIN can be reset in the phone app, under your account "Security Settings".

Try all 000000, last 6 of vin, 123456. I had to reset mine after hitting the max attempts. All it did was wipe out my presets and Bluetooth pairings.

Went to dealer and they had no clue. Sat in the lot with tech and used up all the attempts after which it basically wiped itself and went back to original config.

finished my attemps and button popped up for system reset. Reset logged back in with the app and all my presets came back. Works like new. Thanks for the advice!
