Hello all,

I have a 25 Terra TRD Sport hybrid, just started phase 1 of the build and I couldn't be happier. Not a ton of 37 inch information out there, I hope some of this helps you guys.

Went from 285/70/18 (34's) on stock sport rims completely stock suspension with zero rub. Did this for about 15k, was averaging about 18-19mpg.

Now I have Ironman IM2.5 stage 2 3.5" lift, KMC KM719 17x8 +35, Nitto Recon Grappler 37x11.50 tires. Backwoods Adventure Mods roof rack and sliders, Toyota factory metal skids and trail hunter rear diff skip (being installed this weekend), Dr. KDSS rear track bar bracket.

Could not be happier with the IM2.5's initial impression is the upgrade to 2.5" body shocks is drastic, the ride extremely comfortably. I have been told by multiple people that these coil overs specifically break in after about 600 miles so we shall see if that is true, but if they ride even nicer than what it is already I will be ecstatic. I only have 200 miles on the new lift and tires, so far nothing but amazing things to say about the ride quality and overall look of a Tacoma on 37's. Currently getting 14mpg (on the dash/not corrected for size difference). Once I get more time and and many more miles on this current setup I will post more information. But this specific tire and wheel setup has only a little rub at full lock on the front felt, I plan on doing some real flexing and trimming next weekend, I will keep you posted. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything I am running, I will answer to the best of my ability.

Shout out to Sunshine State Overland Outfitters for the suspension install and alignment, great, knowledgeable group of guys for anyone in the central FL area.

Looks great on 37s.

after I removed the crash plate I put back the three bolts. You don’t really want dirt and water and debris getting in there. Just a thought
Good thought, I will do that tonight.

sick build it looks really clean. love the color too. similar set up but I am on 35s and on the dash I show around 13.5mpg and that is not adjusted for the wheels either. I am getting about 200 miles per tank rn though, wish the tank was larger lol how are you feeling about this?

Weirdly I am getting over 200 miles per fil up, but its barely over. I am up to almost 15mpg on the dash. The small tank is a real bummer, I am waiting for Long range America to come out with their aux tank. 230 miles is not far enough on a full tank lol.

I guess if it were adjusted I am probably getting around 230 as well. my dash says 210ish usually. still it feels like nothing haha. how many gallons extra does that tank add?

Maybe its because I have the hybrid it reads different?

I think the landcruiser one they have adds 24 gallons, but it is not released for the Tacoma so no idea, but I would assume it would be around the same.

Looks great! Did you install Ironman's diff drop kit and/or the ECG needle bearing replacement or are you just taking the wait and see approach on vibration?

I really wanted to buy the IM 2.5 but the guys at Ironman talked me into the foam cell shocks instead. I've built out my truck as an overlander and am carrying a lot of weight and per Ironman the IM 2.5 is really meant for plush travel at extended high speeds but not with heavy loads, which sounds like your experience, whereas the foam cell shock is meant for heavy loads over extended rough roads where shock fade could become a problem.

I just bought the package a couple of days ago and haven't got it installed yet but am looking forward to it!

Really nice to see. Watching to see how your flex tests and trimming go. I thought I was set with my 35's, but darn those look good and that extra inch of clearance couldn't hurt off road. Thanks for sharing your experience! :like:

Nice, yeah the stage 2 comes with the diff drop and upper control arms. The diff drop stays above the Toyota factory skids i installed so you don't lose any ground clearance. Pretty slick setup. I installed the Landcrusier metal skids and a trailhunter diff skid on this truck as well. I dont plan on doing a ton of weight on this thing, but the 2.5's do have different springs for more weight if i decide to RTT in the future.

When you go wheeling, do you plan on airing down? That's a pretty high offset. I run a +25 and on Open Country R/T Pro's in a 35x12.5r17 on a 17x8.5 +25 (5.7" backspacing) the tire is scary close to the lower shock mounts on the axle when running 8-12 psi.

I would be very curious to know how close your 37x11.5 gets to the shock mount when aired down and loaded a bit. It's skinnier, but there is more sidewall to deflect and a higher offset, albeit more narrow rim.

Yeah, I do air down, I am very mild with it thought, 20psi. I havent had any issues yet, but Ill go out this weekend and take a gander.

Ya, put one of those rear wheels up on a rock and see how much space is left. I've got lower shock mount skids that take up a bit of space, and if I side load the tire much, it makes a tiny bit of contact.

Hasn't been an issue yet, but it's not confidence inspiring.

This is something that could keep junk out of the crash bar area. Jeff Westcott did a video on a 4Runner 6th gen where he had removed the crash bar and ice and snow got up in there and started making noise. I think these came out about the same time so I ordered a set. Fits perfectly and apparently does the job. I’ve had no issues. Your truck looks great.
Question in regards to your suspension. I’m looking to upgrade mine. How does it do on regular roads (asphalt) that is rough or nearing the end of its life cycle? That seems to be all we have around here. The trd off-road is great but when you drive twenty plus miles on terrible roads in any vehicle it’ll beat you up.
Also this past weekend I had the opportunity to get lost (literally) on part of the Trans American Trail in the Appalachians . Mainly because I had no signal thus no directions. I probably traveled 20-30 miles or more on a hewn out mountain road that consisted of mostly rock some dirt, gravel, mud, but mostly rock and by the time I got off of it I was sincerely concerned for my suspension. That was going at around 4-5 mph. Do you know or feel that your suspension could hold up to that kind of thing?
I need something that will without breaking the bank. Around $3,000.00 Any suggestions?

I like it alot, its way more compliant over small bumps like that, I highly recommend this IM2.5 kit, the stage 2 comes with upper control arms and a diff drop for less than 3k.
