I've been very happy with the KO3 in 275/70R18. Yes, it's an E rated tire but it rides well and does great in the snow. I don't like 285 width tires in the standard "33"" size (285/70r17) for snow and wet road performance. I've always felt that width tire did better with a higher aspect ratio of a 285/75r17 or a 35x11.5R17 (falken AW4W is awesome in this size as a C load tire.. but maybe a bit too big for most people on a Tacoma).
I think the 285/75/17 would be too heavy for me. Also does a 34" fit in a trail hunter stock? I think a bigger side walled and wider 285/70/17 is the perfect balance since its also SL load. Those KO3's do look really good in that size on the taco

Picked up a "new to me" trail hunter that came with these Cosmo mud tires. I'm not a mudding guy plus it had spacers which I'm not a fan of.

With so much tire noise (as loud as the which oil is best), I opted to go back to OEM size and the BFG KO3's. I'll try these and if I like them the next set will be 275/70-18's like on Gampy164's.

@Gampy164 is the fitment on the 275's ok?

Picked up a "new to me" trail hunter that came with these Cosmo mud tires. I'm not a mudding guy plus it had spacers which I'm not a fan of.

With so much tire noise (as loud as the which oil is best), I opted to go back to OEM size and the BFG KO3's. I'll try these and if I like them the next set will be 275/70-18's like on Gampy164's.

275 would totally be fine with your lift. I had 275 on my SR5 with stock suspension for a minute with no rubbing or issues on or off road. These were the 275 on a truck with the factory ride height of the SR5 & Off Road. You've got the extra lift that only the TH and the Pro get. You can get some big ass tires if you want them.

Okay so then they are close to OEM specs as far as size just a little wider and chunkier tire compared to rim. I ordered it all will be put on Feb 6th! Ill keep you all posted. Did you replace the spare?
Didn’t replace spare. Same diameter.
I have a 2025 trailhunter and I am sick of the OEM tires. Ive had 3 leaks already and they seem poor in rain and off-road. Ive also heard that they aren't great in snow. I do a lot of trips up north where my parents live and I want decent snow performance. I have also had weird alignment issues but i'm now going to go 3rd party away from the dealership they seem to not be very helpful. They have improved a lot but it's not where id like it to be. I have 11,000 miles on the tires and I initial thought about going the Duratrac route like my old tacoma but I really don't want E-Load tires and on top of that I want thicker side walls. I don't need a massive tire 33ish is fine. I have seen a lot of people on here running the Falken AT4w's and I was thinking of doing a method 703 17" with 35mm offset and then an SL rated 285/70/17 AT4. What are yalls thoughts?

I've had Falken Wildpeaks (SLs) on my TRD OR for almost two years. They're a good compromise for backroad/offroad and daily commuting. Quiet and do well in rain on the streets.

They were the OEM tires on my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, and they were very good in rain and snow. I went to larger Duratracs though.

Here's the tire (Nokian Outpost nAT 285/70/17) and Black Rhino Etosha 17/8.50 wheels. Both only weigh 72 lbs, less than the OEM.

Here is what I went with. 17" Method 703's with a 35mm offset wrapped with Falken wildpeak at4w's in a C Load 285/75/17 34.1in tire. No rubbing even with the crash plate still installed. Ride and look great. Rides better than the OEM even.

703's, 35mm, 285/70/17 AT4W's in SL. The ride is great with the Standard Load range. However, I really like the look of your 75's!! The AT4W's throw lots of stones...highly recommend you get a set of RokBlokz XL's...that's what I have. Not a stone chip in the paint to be found, yet!

Have you seen mileage go down? The speedometer will be off a couple mph at 70 mph.

Looks great. Interesting, I have the same size tires (Nokians), but +20mm, and the amount of "poke" seems about the same. Hard to see with these images. I guess it's only 15 mm probably impossible to detect. Have you had them at full articulation? One of the reasons I didn't go 35 mm was a concern that at full articulation it might rub on the inner fender or suspension.

I get an average of about 19.6 mpg with the SL tires. I would like to put 285/75s and probably will in the future even though there will be a hit on mpg. I really like the Nokians in the snow and ice. Even though I'm in New Mexico, we're at over 5400' in elevation, so we get snow, not as much as 20 years ago, but still enough. I've used BFGs, Goodyears, Trailhogs, and now Nokians on 50 years of 4X4s, and the Nokians seem to be the best in rain and snow.

The hybrids, at least the THs are lifted about 1" so that gives us a bit more clearance.

I haven't had them on long enough to see to MPG hit yet if there is one. About 400 miles on them and as of now my mpg on the meter is the same. I also got a super good realignment at an off-road shop since the trailhunter has issues aligned at the dealer. That could also affect it. Not full articulation yet but these truck want more positive offset the inner fender is made to take the tire in with the lip. Stock wheels on the Trailhunter are +35mm and stock on an Off Road is +55. I have basically no poke looks stock from the side. Ill keep updates on mpg and when I get it full flex
