Hello, I wanted to check in regarding an issue I found with the OEM Rigid fog lights on my 2025 Trailhunter.
As I was washing my truck, after an offroad trip to Arizona ( Kofa, lots of fun), I noticed the coating on the Rigid fog lights, both right and left, appeared to be peeling. Upon closer inspection it appeared that the protective film on the lenses was delaminating and flaking off.
I took my truck to get serviced at my local dealership and mentioned the issue. The tech inspected the lights during the service and concluded that it was a warranty issue and ordered a new set.
I’m posting this as a heads up in case you own a 24-26 Trailhunter or TRD Pro, as they come equipped with the Rigid lights. I would take a look at them to see if the coating is also peeling. I am sure that, much like the Gen 3 headlights fogging, once the truck reaches the three year mark it would no longer be covered.

I have that problem too. Initially thought my ceramic coat (that I applied) was peeling. I guess this is either a film never removed from the factory or a legit delam issue. I though the lens was glass..?

My daughter’s trailhunter has this too. I’m not sure it’s a problem.

I had my passenger side light replaced, the dealer warrantied it. Humor: when they ordered the replacement in December Rigid charged them $600 for the one light. Rigid was having a warehouse sale and I could have bought both lights for $300. They said don't worry about the savings.

It seems to be a protective coating applied, maybe for UV protection and/or rock chips? The lenses are definitely plastic though. I don’t think you’d want anything glass on the front of the truck.

Is the replacement process intensive ? Worried about loose panels and broken clips since our dealers in Texas are subpar

They remove the front grille, remove the bracket on the grille that the lights are behind, and then remove the fog lights. If they know what they are doing, should not take more than an hour

It is unacceptable, but the lights are manufactured by Rigid. It's a Rigid defect problem, not Toyota. Only one of mine peeled. Toyota is honoring the Rigid warranty. Rigid has a limited life warranty. on all their products. They may be pricey but they are solid and dependable. That's why I chose Rigid for all my over landing lights.

Oh I'm not blaming Toyota. This is 100% in the lap of Rigid
