I turn my fog lights on/off with the headlight switch. The fog light switch changes the color from white to amber. The fog light switch itself changes color from white/amber so you can tell which color is on. Hard to see while driving though, way down at the bottom of the panel.
Question, if you just turn on and off your fog lights from the light stalk do the fog lights change color?

The only way to change the color from white/amber is the fog light switch. I know, I did not have that for the first 3 months. It was only white until I had the switch.

I don’t know why I’m tempted to buy the switch and see if my regular pro lights can change colour lol

So here's a small bump for the thread, I was in the parts department at my dealer and asked for the part # for the fog lights in the TH. They gave 81220-YY030 left hand, and 81210-YY030 right hand.

Now here's where things get interesting.

Thanks to @TacoFish, they had two options for foglights when looking at the app, part #'s were pt988-35240-br and pt988-35240-TR

So with that info we are left with a 50/50 chance guess and who knows what the BR and TR stand for, could order both but cannot test the switchback function without the proper wiring and removing the front.

But there's more!

I searched on eBay and found the part #pt988-35240-br, which are the OEM rigid lights BUT they are showing part# 81220-YY080 and 81220-YY070

But I asked the seller if these were the switchback versions and they said yes. Again not something I can easily test without the switch or taking off the bumper.

So this leads me to where I stand, part # pt988-35240-TR MAYBE the switchback foglights, but cannot tell without ordering and testing, but the BR part # might also work. The easiest way to confirm would be if a TH owner took a photo of their foglights when their bumper is off and we could confirm.

Also have to find the wiring for this, for models that came with non Rigid fog lights from factory, but who knows how that works.
Next month, I’m having a CBI covert bumper and a winch installed in my trail hunter. I will try to remember to make photos of the rigid lights with the part numbers if this has not been resolved by then

Here's the answer to the question about the Rigid part numbers. I put a covert bumper on my Trailhunter this past Saturday. TL is left front, TR is right front. I've been out on trails, that's why so much dirt.

Or one needs to figure out which wires to "cross" or jumper to trigger the light change (if wanting it permanently one color or the other)

You can definitely get them a few dollars cheaper online but still over 600 in parts for the 2 plus the switch vs the alpharex ones for 195 total

Thank you so much for providing this info, this helps a lot. one step closer to possibly retrofitting these.

After having my trd pro front bumper off and see all the same connectors and wires being ran to the white only rigid foglights, while they are different part numbers; It would make me think they are pre wired for the dual color Toyota set.

The factory button and the TH fogs should be a simple plug and play and work.

the alpharex fogs at the moment are not compatible with the TRD Pro .

I had also suspected they would be plug and play for the pro as they are available as an add on feature
