Yes - they definitely work as a step for people who need them, like my wife. They are well make, look good, and are not in the way like most steps. Plus they are beefy and will provide great off road protection. They had a discount when I bought them and they were about $1,100. If you are not in a hurry they seem to have sales pretty often.
did you get 20 or 5 degree?

5 degrees - which is what RCI recommends for the tread plates.

I have mostly had step sliders and never and issue. Of course I have only had Land Cruisers before this. I had tube sliders on my 100 series and should have gotten step sliders

Just posting them to show Step sliders are great for wheeling and letting wife and kids climb aboard as well

Sliders to me are a must if you are going to offroad. One slip and you could have this without them

Strangely enough the new 'wave maker" or whatever they are calling that hideous color is not even listed on Toyota's USA site as an option for the 2026 - as they are now listing "2026" model on the site.

And for those holding off to see if Toyota will make the Pro's iso-seats now an option - Toyota has doubled down on little back leg room. Still listed as standard for 2026 - I'm sure most of us are not surprised, but still disappointed.

Looks like zero changes for 2026, even the same wheel design which they will tweak/change on a pro.

Jeep announced tons of changes for the 2026 Wrangler/Gladiator yesterday. Toyota Tacoma? Virtually nothing has changed for 2026.

I have a 2026 TRD Pro reserved and I think the Iso seats are really cool. Yes, they will reduce the back seat leg room by a bit but the tacoma's rear seats are already tight (I have a 2024 TRD OR). If rear seat leg room is a priority then the tacoma wouldn't suffice anyway imo. If someone can sit in the back seat of a regular tacoma then they can sit behind Iso seats, either way it's going to be tight.

I'll glady take the IsoDynamic seats in my Pro over the seats in my wifes 25 Pro 4Runner. They're night and day different.

There's much more support in them and the base is longer for your thighs.

For me, it would be a deal breaker for the PRO. I settled for an OR, for a few reasons. Yes, budget was part of it but not entirely. The PRO is only available as a hybrid drive, and the dynamic seats are both the primary reasons I went OR. The rear seat is plenty big for my lanky 13yr old as it is. I test drove both and didn't see a substantial enough difference in drive feel to warrant the extra cost to the Hybrid drive either. Sure it has a bit more pep, but with the added weight it wasn't as much as I would have liked.

The trail hunter actually did get considered more than the PRO due to the seats, but inevitably I have a bad habit of never being able to leave anything alone so all those accessories that made up the added cost of the TH would have just ended up being taken off or changed reguardless.

My OR ended up my choice based on those two factors. I actually bought a few things for it before I even took delivery anyway.

The ISO seats are neat but I'm 6'3" and have a difficult time getting in & out of my PRO. The sides if the seats are high so I have to slide in & out which will eventually wear the leather out. Any techniques on how to enter/exit appreciated.
BTW, my back seat is completely unusable. Wife is 5 feet tall so there is back seat room on side.
6’2” and am considering adding a running board so I don’t have to slide over the side bolster

@Romer A Pro is really just a Toyota build on a Off-Road, so buying that and doing your own build can get you exactly what you want. When I had more time and less cash I built my own trucks, and I would have started with your truck. But now it is the opposite for me and I love my truck. I think it is cool that Toyota gives us different trucks for different needs.

The seats are super comfortable, even though you don't really need the suspension, so for me they are not a waste. It would have been cool if you could option a Pro with the seats from a Trailhunter. But everyone who has ridden in my truck comments on the great bolstering and how comfortable they are. I never put actual humans in the back of any of my Tacos, so the crazy lack of rear seat room is not a problem for me. I would have preferred to just have a storage area in the back.

The rock protectors are not much use off road and just yesterday I removed them and put on RCI rock sliders. To me the OEM protectors are like fake beadlock wheels, and doing pretend stuff like that is just dumb IMO.
Do you have a photo of the RCI sliders installed? I am considering those

Part# PT738-35240 OEM Aluminum. Very pleased with them. Stepping is perfect.
