First truck, so I’m a noob when it comes to truck wheels and tires. Most of my experience in this field was installing coilovers, sway bars, and adjustable endlinks on (and lowering) my 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege, hah.

I hate the chrome accent on the TRD Sport rims. I want to get the factory TRD Pro rims for my Sport. I think I found the part number after searching another thread. They’re 18” rims and should fit fine. I will not be doing any suspension or lift mods.

PT946-35240-2F - TRD Pro 18” rims
PT998-89210-F2 - Centercap (can I reuse the Sport rims centercap?)

My main question, aside from confirming the part numbers, is about tires. What type of tires come stock with the Pro? I’m guessing it’s A/T tires, whereas the Sport likely has street tires? I think those rims would look off with street tires, but I want to maintain as much MPG as possible while still rocking A/T tires (I live in New England, so I think they could help in winter, too). What size tire should I be looking at with those rims on stock suspension? I know the Pro has a slight factory lift, and I’m not sure if that impacts tire size for the Sport.

The sport offroad and limited are about the same height. I have limited using bridgestone dueler at 275/70 R18. Lost 3 mpg from stock on highway. I also have wider rims fuel rebel 18x9 +25 offset. Stock no rubbing. Rims were about 400 a piece. You can get oem used trd rims much less.

Thanks for the info! Do you think putting a stock TRD Pro setup on the Sport (same tires as the user posted previously) would sacrifice any MPG? And are those tires good for snow?

Since these will be daily driver tires on 95% paved roads, and I live in New England (rain and snow), I’m thinking the Wildpeak AT3 tires would be my best bet to pair with the 18” TRD Pro rims.

Compared to other options, such as K02s, my research has told me that the Wildleak AT3s are quieter on road, perform better on wet roads and in snow, and are lighter weight. All three of these things are a win for my typical use of the truck. Anybody care to comment on my take here? It’s a lot of info to dissect!

Rolling Resistance:
The wider the tire and the tread compound determines the resistance of the tire to roll. A highway tire (stock on sport) and an AT tire do not roll the same. AT tires and mud tires don't roll as smooth. They are designed to grip on gravel/mud. I had K02 on my F150 and they are a hard rubber and made a little hum at 45. Goes away at 70. Supposedly the K03 are better.
Unsprung Weight:
This is the weight at the wheel hub. The weight that needs to be moved to get the wheel turning. More weight = less mileage. You can google wheel and tire weight from stock to new setup and see the difference. 50 pounds extra in the chair is nothing compared to 15 pounds at the wheel hub. I went with bridgestone vs bf goodrich because they weigh less for same size.
