2025 SR5 Tacoma with about 5000 miles or so on it. Took it into the dealership with a vibration issue with rpm’s around 1300-1500 going 32-37 mph also very light on the gas pedal. They stated the could not feel anything and it’s normal. So I proceeded to purchase 20” Tundra TRD wheels with 265/60/20 Falken Wildpeak At wheels and tires. With the new wheels and tires the vibration is even more pronounced. Looking for some suggestions on how to replicate the more pronounced vibration with the OEM 17 inch wheels. The Trd wheel and tire set are about 30lbs more per wheel and tire than the stock oem. I am debating weather I should remove the driveline with the Trd wheels on and run it in 4hi to see if the vibration goes away to see if it’s the drive line but that seems like a lot of work. It also feels to be lugging when this vibration is happening like it needs to downshift. Appreciate any thoughts on how to replicate it with the 17 inch wheels so the dealer can fix it if it is a driveline issue.

At worst you could take your truck to a driveline shop and get it balanced or verified if all is correct. After all your bearings, u-joints will thank you if that is indeed the culprit. I will tell you I bought a new JL back in '18 when they came out and the dealer tried to pass off a jeep with a bent driveshaft as if it had no problems.. Wasn't biting on that rotten apple.

I’m gonna take my Trd wheels to a tire shop just so o make sure they are not out of balance. I think an out of balance tire would be shaking all the time. This vibration I feel is not in the steering wheel it in the seat and floor

I have this with my 25 Pro, I feel a vibration/shudder at 43 to 47 mph with light on the gas, sometimes I think it's gone then the next time I drive, I will notice it again. Feels kinda like unseen small bumps on the road. I dont feel it in the steering wheel its more like the whole truck. Torque converter? Drive line?

You'll learn that just about every problem is considered normal to Toyota and their dealerships.....

Yes I’m also leaning towards torque converter, locking up and or transmission shift points. Seems to be all about gas saving measure low RPMs.

Are you lifted in front at all? Have you tried it in 4H to see if the vibration goes away? If the vibration goes away in 4H it is usually a good indicator that the driver side front axel needle bearing is going bad or has too much play. This needle bearing is what the “ECGS clam shell bushing” replaces.

****The vibration going away in 4H is due to the front axel being engaged thus “tightening up” the play (looseness) in the factory needle bearing. This vibration has been a widely known issue for some 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen 4wd Tacomas that’s usually more noticeable after lifting the front suspension.

I currently don’t have them on the truck as I just had the truck in for service and when they go in for service, they take pictures of the vehicle. I will get them back on the vehicle in the next couple of days and try and 4 high when the vibration starts and go from there.
