Anyone else catch the declared fuel type of vehicles involved is CNG? That certainly wasn't a shopping option when I was shopping.

The way I read it, this affects both Hybrid AND Non-Hybrid and it applies to both part time 4WD AND full time 4WD.

The difference is full time 4WD has the added benefit of possibly moving even when the vehicle is in park in addition to the potential steering loss issue.

That is correct. The other replies in this thread misunderstood the recall the same way I first did.

Cool. Hopefully it doesn’t affect you.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting to see if this is going to be expanded to 2024. I have an intermittent vibration at certain speeds on the highway that has been discussed in another thread that others have unrelated to wheel balancing, bad tire, alignment or anything common.
One guy did have his driveshaft replaced that was found to be “out of balance”.
Have to think this is all related.

Wondering the same thing. There has been lots of talk about this vibration issue. I have it in my truck. Wondering if this is the reason?

I really have to believe it is.

I actually have a service appointment at 8am tomorrow to have my issue looked at for the first time. I got my '24 Sport last October so I've had it exactly a year, but I JUST turned 4,800 miles. I've been working from home since covid but just started going into the office 3 days/wk 26 miles each way all on the highway.

I obviously barely drove my truck for the last year and it was mostly around town. I always noticed it but always chalked it up to the road or just me.

Now that I'm finally spending a lot more time in the truck, there's definitely something off. It's at different speeds, sometimes as low as 35mph, more often between 60-70. The thing is, there's no shaking or movement from the steering wheel and the truck tracks straight as an arrow. It's more of a vibration/shake coming through the cabin as if it's from underneath........like maybe where the driveshaft is.....hmmm.

I'm fully expecting them to tell me that there's no issue and that’s “just the way the truck is”. Or that they can't replicate it because they won't take it out over the posted speed limit to diagnose it (which they've told others).

I'll keep you guys posted here.

Service Update: Surprise! We weren't able to replicate any vibration or find anything wrong. You were due for a tire rotation which we did, so hopefully that will fix the issue. Otherwise, it's most likely just road conditions.

I've been driving just shy of 40 years, have owned over 25 different vehicles and driven countless more. That would definitely explain why I'm too dumb and inexperienced to realize that there's nothing at all wrong with my truck and be able to tell the difference between "road conditions" and an issue. So effing insulting.

On top of that, I have 2 recalls (brake hose & main screen) and the service bulletin for the rear sensors update. The only one they did was the blind spot update because there is no remedy yet for the 2 recalls.

HUH? As far as I know, they've been doing the brake hose fix for the Off Roads with 17in wheels for months. I get that the Sport with 18in wheels was not part of the recall originally and added recently, but isn't the fix the same friggin' thing, replace the brake hoses? And for the digital dash it's just a software update which I guess they don't have baked yet?

So now I'll have to make at least one, possibly two more trips in for service to take care of these.

Extremely disappointing to be dealing with the same type of issues that made me trade in my 3 year old Jeep Gladiator with only 15k miles for the Tacoma in the first place. It really is a shame because I do love the truck.

Like a shimmy in the seat, just enough to shake your knee or rattle your drink. Very forward/backward, not side to side. On 87 octane, between 37mph up to about 46 mph, settles out by 48mph. Repeats at ~1/3 intensity around 67mph to 73mph. If switching to 93 octane, then the 37-46 one drops down to ~33mph to 36mph and becomes half intensity. And the ~67 one steps down as well but pretty much disappears. No pull left/right. Tracks exactly as expected.

sound familiar to anyone else?
