Hi All. I have a TRD OR 6' Bed. Currently I'm running Peak's 2.25 front and 2" rear lift. Within the next year I want to move to a proper lift with new struts and shocks and rear lift springs. I'm down to doing a Billstein setup either 5100 with JBA UCAs and All Dogs Offroad 2" rear springs, versus adding the OEM TRD lift. A 6112/6100 setup with JBAs and ADO rear springs would be well north of $2000 for the parts. 5100s obviously cheaper. I no not offroad HARD, but I do offroad on logging roads and in the woods. 5100 may do for me; however I do tow a travel trailer.

The OEM TRD lift I can get online for around $16-1700 from Sheehy Toyota with free shipping and a discount code. 6112/JBAs/ADO setup more expensive than that, 5100s/JBAs/ADOs, slightly cheaper than that.

My question for those of you with either of these setups, what would you recommend and what are your experiences. How much front and rear lift did you actually get from the TRD OEM kit, preferably on a long bed? How resistant to squat are the new lift springs you get with the TRD lift? I know the ADO rear springs give about 2" rear lift and are pretty squat resistant.

Thanks for any input and help!

Can't speak to TRD, but I have the 5100s (my understanding is TRD is just rebranded 5100 anyways). Kept it at 1.5" to avoid UCAs. Icon overland springs in the rear sits at about 1.5 with a 350# camper, and 1/2 inch when loaded at 600#. Love the ride. Rips on service roads which is about all the off roading I'll do.
I would recommend the Dr. KDSS Track Bar Relocation kit and extended end links. Corrects the geometry and really made a difference in how the truck handles over bumps.
Something to keep in mind with the 5100 and 6100 is that they're only rated for 1.5" lift in the rear. + 1/2 inch isn't going to be a big deal for what we do, but I see people jacking up the rear end and maxing out shocks that aren't rated for any lift. Not smart IMO.
Re: the all dogs springs. I talked to those guys and they weren't extremely helpful, they don't really know how much weight causes their springs to compress and how much. whoever I talked to said he had 600# in his bed and they were still at 1.5" of lift and he couldn't tell me much else. I've seen them be a little arrogant on other forums too so that turned me off of them. People say they're also a little rough riding with an empty bed, so that paired with 5100 I would expect some harshness.
Could stick with stock springs and your spacer for a cushier ride and snag some airbags for towing ?
Anyways, let us know what you decide on!

I haven’t been able to find a dealer that ships the oem trd lift kit, it’s all pick up at dealer. I am guessing due to size and/or weight. Which sheehy is going to ship?

I have the TRD lift and Im very happy. It’s 2&1/2 in front and 2” in the rear i believe. Its provides a very nice ride as its made for our trucks. Im positive long bed vs shout doesn't matter. As far as resistant to squat….not sure. Im sure pending your weight its gonna sag and you may have to ada stiffer springs or air bags

Nice thank you! Do you think, if you have time, taking some center of hub to bottom of fender-well measurements front and rear for me?

Just do an in-store pickup with the 25% off coupon whenever it comes back. Why pay for shipping!

Depends on what model Tacoma you have, here is a list I found from the Ed Martin YT channel

I have been looking for months and doing a lot of research on what type of suspension I should get. In the end I opted for the Trd bc they had a great Memorial Day sale. Plus with the TRD set up it included the upper control arm as well as a warranty. I live in Northern Virginia so I had to rip to Maryland to pick it up. No biggie. A lot of these dealers will not ship because of weight. A long story short I just had my local dealer and do the installation and it’s awesome!!
