Has anyone added the fuel door release button and actuator to a truck that did not come with it?

Not yet. I have been researching the relevant cabin switch and the aux switch thread provides info on this. However, I have not yet found information about the fuel door actuator. Maybe someone here has some info?

I thought about it as well but then decided to not do it because in the 30 years I've been driving, I've never had fuel siphoned from any of my vehicles, the labor involved isn't worth my time, and if you mess it up wiring I'm not sure if there's a way to manually open the door without breaking it.

I’m willing to put forth the effort if the harness is pre wired like most everything else. The hope was that it’s pre wired and basically everything else required just bolts in. Minus maybe painting a fuel door.

I too would not mind doing some work just as long as the wiring is already in place. Kind of like the bed scene lights was not that bad.
I'll keep an eye on this thread.

There are some good online parts diagrams posted here:

https://toyotaparts.lakelandtoyota.com/v-2024-toyota-tacoma--trd-off-road--2-4l-l4-gas

This is for a gas TRDOR, but clicking on the page tree at the top takes you up a level and you can select any model Tacoma you desire, making comparisons between gas and hybrid parts relatively easy. Click on “Browse Categories” and then find what you’re looking for. The fuel door etc. is listed under Air & Fuel Delivery then Fuel Storage. I also checked electrical and other areas.

It seems like the fuel door and the fuel filler assembly are the same between gas and hybrid, though different for 5’ and 6’ beds. This is encouraging. The two items that will be required, assuming the harness is already pre-wired in the truck, are the dashboard switch and the fuel door actuator, which have part numbers:

Switch 84841-0A030 $77.22
Lock actuator 77030-AK010 $184.08

This still needs checking with a dealer, and I have not investigated the wiring yet.

I’d love to add the fuel door actuator!
hopefully everything is prewired as others have stated. Can’t be that difficult as long as we have all the parts 🤞
