Is it possible to install this with just removing the side bed lights? Or do you have to go through the wheel well for full access?
That would be an awesome idea IF you can get it out from the bed side. If you look closely at the light, there is that black locking tab on the aft side of the light.

Plus how would you fish the rest of the wiring back to the end of the bed to the taillight. It really needs to be zip tied up so not just dangle around and have pulling pressure on the connections.

Ok. I got mine done. I popped the bed lights out by pushing the back edge tailgate side of the light toward the front. (The side with two notches is toward the bottom). Then I removed the storage compartment on the driver side and power plug on the passenger side to access inside the bed. That’s where I was able to connect the wiring. I was also able to zip tie from inside those two access areas. If you wanted to you can remove the tail lights to clip in the connector or just zip tie it all from behind the access areas.

Your way is definitely more clean but I just didn’t want to mess with the flares and liner.

Great job! I think that might be the way to go. Seems to be less intensive, that's for sure.

Mine came factory installed, didn’t realize how much I’d love them and how useful they are at night.
