I'm looking at getting a tri-fold bed cover, particularly the Rough Country one, for my TRD OR Premium. Has anyone used this bed cover with the power close tailgate? I read somewhere that people were having issues with the powered tailgate closing correctly when they had a bed cover on.

I have it on mine. It’s perfect. Great for the price and does the job keeping it water tight. I have the off road (not premium) same fit though. The one thing I didn’t like was the gaps on the bed rail towards the front of the cab. I recently saw someone made a fix for it on this forum so I swooped them up and that helped a lot. Great purchase though. Very interested to see how it holds up for a couple California winters….

What’s up bro. I bought the Undercover Ultra Flex cover from RealTruck and it’s a decent cover. Keeps out water and looks great.

another benefit I got was getting it installed at an approved shop by ReqlTruck and they doubled the warranty from 5 years to 10.

something to think about. Hope this helps out bro. :fistbump:

I have a Real Truck Gator SRX, inexpensive, but serves my purpose, as I have a garage, so security is not a concern. Close the tail gate first, then close the cover, for a good seal at tailgate.

I have the same trim, and it's perfect on mine. Looks good and no complaints

Some tonneau covers don't account for the curved edge at the front of the bed. If you stand on the side of your truck and look across the back glass, you'll notice the bed is not perfectly straight across. The tailgate not closing has to do with installation as the cover needs to be adjusted to not reach to far back blocking the tailgate from closing, especially if it's an electric tailgate.
No tonneau covers are guaranteed to be water proof, except fiberglass and aluminum that go over the sides of the bed.
I have roll n lock, expensive 1k, the only plus is that when opened it does not block the rear glass.

I have the BAK Revolver X4TS...I don't like it. Leaks water everywhere, and makes noise at highway speeds with a crosswind. Also, the T-slot is very limited...basically to one model of cross bar. Regret my purchase

BAKFlip MX4 here. This is my third one in eight years, three different trucks. First one fit my needs so well, bought same one when I got a new truck. This one, seemed to be slightly less robust/rugged, maybe value-engineered a bit to cut cost in manufacturing. Now with my third one, seems more additional cost-cutting measures may have been taken, feels slightly less durable than my previous two; no leaks or issues with tailgate closing at all. If I have a complaint, it is that when completely open, the foam pad that is mounted to prevent wear between cover and cab does not provide protection, it slips below the third brake light overhang, and the cover would sit against the third brake light/bed lighting/camera, which is why I wont be using it in its completely-open position.

I have the same one as BC510 on my Limited and had to shift the rails all the way back towards the cab as far as the carriage bolts, slots, and the rails themselves would allow. Then centering it up in the tracks. About 1 out of 5 times the power tailgate senses that there's something in the way (senses too much motor torque?) for both closing AND opening and will beep and stop. It usually happens when it's sat for a while so the rubber on the bottom of the cover tends to grab a little more. Might trim it down, I usually just have to hit the open/close button again and it'll operate right the next time. Hoping as it breaks in it'll do that less and less before I try to trim the rubber back.

My main gripe actually was the first time it rained hard the water wasn't just seeping a little on the sides as I expected from use with other covers, but the water actually would track along the bottom of each fold and drip water everywhere in the middle of the bed. I used black silicone conservatively at each folding location taking into account how each joint will fold and flatten up against each section in order to seal up the flow paths and haven't had issues since. In central NC where we get solid rain and t-storms from spring to fall.
