Did you tap the dedicated dashcam connector in the roof pod or did you unplug your front camera module connector during this? You shouldn’t ever unplug that as it will throw all kinds of errors

i didnt unplug anything. just connected right into the factory slot in the roof pod like the post says. Just went into the service menu and the cameras function doesnt even pop up.

Sounds like you might have blown the fuse. Check the wiring and what you have plugged in. Something isn't right.

Any clue as to what fuse that may be? Can’t find anything related to camera.
It's either ECU-B or ECU-DCC depending on your build date. Could also be ECU-IGR.

And in case this isn't obvious, take out what you plugged into the dome light camera connector. Something is not wired right.

Hard to know beyond that without knowing what went wrong. Possibly one of the connectors above the mirror came loose during install? Otherwise worse case is the 12v shorted to neutral and fried something.

Without knowing what went wrong I'd check all the fuses and then probably take it in to the dealership and plead ignorance.

That’s the plan. Have an appt may1 and there’s no signs I was ever in the top compartment.

I do think the issue came because bought the female adapter that came wired. It had 5 wires on it and two them were live. I connected the two power with my dashcam adapter and chose one of the dead ones for ground. Now after that only one of them gives any sign of power. So I lost power somewhere

Figured i'd post here instead of creating a new thread. I know there are better DashCAM options out there, but I've had FITCAMX on many of my previous cars without any issues and love the OEM look of it [even more OEM than Toyota's OEM Dash].

Anyway, FITCAMX also has a parking mode cable available to use with the 5pin Harness. Their site says for 2021 Toyota Sienna, but that is the exact same connector as the one pre-wired in our trucks > https://fitcamx.com/collections/fus...parking-mode-cable-for-toyota-sienna-2021-now

I found this thread searching the web for fuse diagrams on the 2025 Tacoma Limited Hybrid. Still no luck but I appreciate the detailed account.

If you're someone looking for parking mode without needing voltage sensing. Consider Blackvue X model Dashcams. They can go into parking mode with voltage sensing like the Viofo and Thinkware cameras but also by utilizing GPS and motion sensing after 5 minutes. The Blackvue cameras also have built-in voltage cutoff.

I'm getting ready to install the Blackvue 970x Box front and rear with a Powercell battery pack. I was hoping to use the fuse panel under the rear passenger seat in the hybrid models. However, I still haven't been able to find fuse diagrams to know if there is a 12v constant and ACC. I guess Toyota just wants us to figure it out the hard way.

This write up is great Thanks OP... I finally got around to unhooking my Dongar pro and using the 5 pin it came with to the viofo hardwire kit... I had a question for anyone using the viofo A229 pro.... Is there a way to turn off parking mode and also has anyone had a dead battery yet? What's the longest people left their truck and come back and started right up? Thanks

Just nervous to drain my battery

I'm pretty sure there is a setting to turn off the the parking mode. I can't check right now but I'd assume it's in the parking mode settings. I've had better luck changing things on the camera and not through the app. Otherwise if you don't want parking mode at all you can just not hook up the constant on.

I haven't had any battery issues. I set the hardwire kit to the highest voltage cutoff setting and I've left my truck sitting for over a week with no issues.
