Did you know just the head unit only will come on if you hit the power button after shut down. You will open and shut the door then hit the power button in the head unit.
Nice to learn that over here—thanks.

On a youtube video explaining 17 different things you can do to extend the life of your Toyota and why.
Number 1 Throw the Toyota maintenance schedule out the window if you want longevity. It's purposely deceptive too make the trucks seem to be low maintenance. I'm not going to list the rest, but everything made sense to me.
I believe it's looking into.
Are you talking about the Start stop button?
No, the volume power knob.

??? Will get back to you on that after I give it a try.
Makes one wonder why the smart kid ( AI )
didn't list that as a option along with the other suggestions?
I honestly stumbled upon it while washing my truck one day. I hit the button on accident and the head unit came on.

Pick one

1) Start the truck and idle the motor every thirty minutes for 10 minutes.
2) Bring a radio
3) add a second battery, but get professionally done.

Thanks, look forward to giving it a try. We'll at least I know how long to have the radio on now. 😆
Yeah no kidding. I’d be interested in a dual battery set up as well. Definitely on a switch. Separate for winch and backup for starting. I wired my boat the same way. One for engine one for trolling motor, engine charged both. Rotate switch to start engine if needed.

I’ll pick #2, using iPhone as a radio.
Can you get FM signal on an iPhone with an app? It’s not going to be on iHeart. And if it was through an app there would be a 8 second delay. So you might want to bring a radio if turning the car off. But I have not been to a drive in since 1980.

Yes, an app. I’d have to try a few apps alongside a radio to see what the delay is.
That would be no fun!

Another option is a GMRS or Ham radio with FM band. We will be putting handhelds in the truck to replace my ancient FRS set. FRS will go into the Integra.

Who knew that going to an ARCHAIC way of watching a movie, in our new trucks would turn into such a conversation 🤔

I did try 3 different, so called FM radio Apps, and, no success.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!! hahahahaha I had to call the security for a jump. Honestly, what I do now (I have a hybrid too) I just turned off all the lights and leave the car running. The engine turns off by itself, and in a 2 hour period maybe it kicks in once or twice, nobody really cars, the truck is not super noisy while idling.

I've been going to the drive in almost every week and never had a complaint or issue, and I have given 2 more couples jumps because their battery died.

Just my two cents for absolute peace of mind.
