I’ve been waiting for the 6112s and or the Pro Truck 3Rs to come out as I originally figured I might as well upgrade to a 2.5 shock if I’m spending the money. However, I’m growing impatient and wondering if anyone on here with a TRD OR switched to the Eibach 2Rs. If so, is it a noticeable improvement? The stock Bilsteins are harsh in my opinion, I don’t do any hard core off-roading but want to improve the ride and gain a subtle lift. I’m not interested in any rebuildable shock that only lasts 30-50k miles. Appreciate any insight

Have you checked out the Dirt King trail lift. Tacoma Beast has a video on it.

How many miles on your truck? Mine has 16000 miles on it. The ride has gotten progressively better with miles on the stock TRD OR suspension. I feel like it rides so good now that I wouldn’t want to take a chance on aftermarket suspension. But then again maybe I don’t know what I’m missing out on.

I’m very impressed with the dirt king r&d! Great video. I’m waiting on them to get some seat time with the hybrid so I can decide which to go with.

This is 100% accurate.

A new truck needs a while to break in, especially the suspension. My TRD OR suspension felt bad for the first couple months but also bedded in and the bushings loosened up. The OEM parts are meant to last 80-100k miles so they need time to loosen up and work correctly.

Maybe people also complain about the TRD OR shocks "bottoming out" but what they are really feeling is the second compression stage in the travel. It's a noticable tap and then the shock firms up for the rest of the travel.

Actually "bottoming out" is a harsh event that few people ever do in the real world.

As to the topic of this thread, Eibach appears to have made some solid improvements over the last decade. I've never ran them but there is enough mention of them online for a decently large data set. They will probably be fine for a daily driver that occasionally sees some light offroad. Worst case scenario, you don't like them and you swap suspension in a couple years to something else and sell the Eibach stuff; suspension swaps aren't the most difficult thing.
