That's great that the OTT tuned worked well for you. I had a different experience though. I'm not the only one that had a bad calibration with an off the shelf tune. I ended back to stock cal. Not to say they couldn't have fixed the tune with a custom tune. I went back three times to my tuner and just gave up. If I had stayed with the tune i would have asked for a trans cal and stock power.
Could you elaborate on your issues? Im considering the tune. Thanks.

I'll have it for 50 days so I figured, might as well!

Thank you. I think they came great from factory in their stock form, can't wait to start modding it.

Considering a tune later down the road when final suspension and 40s and regearing is done.

Nice color TRD Pro BTW. It’s the best color of the gen 4 IMHO….. but I’m bias though

Yeah your build is dope! I'm glad I went mud bath over underground.

I think a tune would probably benefit you now with the added weight, then you can go back and just adjust as needed.

What are your thoughts with the OTT TUNE VS a piggyback tune like JB4?
OTT > any plug in device on the market.

Let me explain why though, as It’s important to understand the difference between a proper ECU tune like OTT and plug-in devices like the JB4 or other piggyback systems e.g. pedal monster, banks throttle device, pedal commander etc.

Plug-and-play tuners don’t actually reprogram your truck’s ECU. Instead, they manipulate sensor signals to trick the ECU into doing things it wasn’t designed to do. such as:

Under-reporting boost levels so the ECU adds more boost, even though it thinks it's within factory limits, and altering fuel or air sensor data to force a richer mixture. Some intercept throttle signals to simulate quicker response (where the throttle devices come in.) There are multiple reports throughout other groups of plug in devices causing the trucks to go into "limp mode" in the middle of traffic.

While these tricks can result in temporary perceived power gains, they’re not precise — and the ECU is still operating based on false data which can lead to Inconsistent performance or throttle response, transmission confusion and higher risk of engine knock or long-term wear due to falsely perceived signals.

On the opposite spectrum the Overland Tailor Tune (OTT) is a full ECU flash — not a workaround. It recalibrates the actual engine and transmission maps inside the ECU to safely and effectively improve performance.
