Has anyone installed the Diode Dynamics D-Switch or Garmin Powerswitch in their hybrid Tacoma yet? I want to power it from within the engine bay, and it seems like I may be able to do so from the passenger side fuse box, but I was wondering if anyone has experience in this? I don't want to run wires all the way to the batteries in the back seat.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I believe the fusebox is low power. You could install it but I don't believe you'll get 30 or 20 amp circuits. I think you may need to run those wires. Alternatively, kind of, you could make your own engine bay terminals or buy from the company that makes them but its expensive.

Did your Taco come with the AUX-1 AUX-2 and AUX-3 Switch in the lower left console?
If it did the AUX-1,2&3 output has the connection in the engine compartment (sorry don't have pictures right now.) Get the information but I think the highest AUX-1 is 15 Amps.
If they don't carry enough current you can use them to run a relay that will switch higher current from the battery output post.

where are you getting that info? I’ve heard that it’s a direct line to the 12V battery so you can get as many amps from that as possible.

I heard this in one the threads or videos on this. Not sure who/where I heard it. I leave it up to you and the community to correct me. I'm not an electrician.

I also found this video that uses the back most post instead. I did check with a multimeter and it seems like ALL of the posts have constant 12V power running through it. I wonder which would be the best to tap into?

Thanks for the additional video.

For everyone here, I'm trying to find a Tacoma version but this is the Tundra's setup. If someone can help interpret that would be great! But 1C is the post that the guy with the Trailhunter used and 1F is the one the Tundra guy used.
