Hello,

I apologize that the first post on this site is due to issues and I haven’t not properly introduced myself and my truck

I have a 25 Tacoma Limited (hybrid), I purchased the Cobb Accessport tuner as a gift to myself for the holiday. It arrived today but I keep getting the message “ This vehicle is not currently supported by this Accessport. Please press continue to store the ECU data.”

I watched the @CAMTuning YT vid on the bypass process, verified I have received the correct accessport w/ the order, box received and accessport manager. Even reloaded the firmware.

I'm hoping someone has had this issue and it was an easy fix before I reach out to Cobb support in the morning.

Thanks for assistance!

No, bought it straight from Cobb. I was hoping another member experienced the same issue and found the fix.

I’m calling Cobb once the support line is open.

This will be an easy fix as the ecu ID is one that I encountered just over a week ago and Cobb is already working on defining it. I'll help you get it installed as soon as Cobb gets it updated.

I’ve been on the fence OTT canned tune or Cam with access port? Would have done the OTT already but the nearest is 300 miles away.
I’m glad you brought this up, because there’s quite a bit of misinformation floating around on this topic.

First and most importantly: OTT does not only offer “canned” or OTS only tunes. We absolutely provide custom calibration for both in-person and remote clients. The narrative that we don’t simply isn’t accurate.

Our process intentionally starts with our OTS base calibration because it is far more comprehensive than any off the shelf option currently available for this platform. From there, we refine and tailor the calibration to the specific vehicle, hardware, operating conditions, and customer goals, whether that’s done in person or remotely. Think of our OTS map as a very strong foundation, not a one size fits all endpoint.

One of the key differences between OTT and many others in this space is how our calibration work is done. We do not rely on third-party software companies to define what we can or can’t tune. We have in-house reverse engineering capability and perform our own development work, which gives us unrestricted access to the ECU binary itself. Because of that, our calibrations are not limited by commercial software suites or pre-defined parameter sets. We use these tools strictly as a delivery mechanism for our custom work, not as the source of it.

This also means we’re not constrained when new calibration IDs appear. We routinely add support internally, on the spot, without customers having to wait days or weeks for software updates. When a customer works with OTT, whether in person or via our DIY/remote options, they get tuned - Period.

Just to be clear, we’re not "anti-COBB". We are also a COBB ProTuner and Dealer, and if an Accessport-based solution is what you prefer, we can absolutely supply the hardware and support that route as well.

If distance is the main concern, we can talk through the remote options and see what makes the most sense for your setup and goals. Happy to answer any questions or clear up anything else you’ve been told.

Best,
Justin
