It's okay to solicit sales on this forum, and ask for help from other members, CORRECT.
The second I reach out to my community for help i received a variety of responses, motions of them were not kind ones and pointed out. This is not the place to ask for help.

Quite a community of people you are. I'm not saying all of you, but you know who you are. Whoever had my post pulled, I hope you're happy.I'll still find a way to serve.

If this was for, say, medical expenses for someone we know on the forum? Cool.

But a church trip that's completely optional, and that you can pay for yourself? No way.

I completely agree with you and everyone else looking at my truck. I will say since I have learned of the mission trip to Mendoza Argentina, I have not spent. another dime on the truck.
I just purchased airfare tickets today and the cost has gone up since the planning of the trip. Originally was supposed to be a group price of $800 and today the ticket cost me $1803.59.
I was fine with putting up original $800. When it went up to $2200. I thought I could ask for help without judgment, I guess not. Now the trip has gone up we're roughly $1003.59 more.
Believe me, I'll find a way to go on this trip to help others, as well as find others that are full of judgment.

Same. I checked the about me and saw they paid the truck cash and then dropped 20k in mods for Christmas.

I don't mind either but I did raise an eyebrow at it.

You are a better man than I. If I were to offer my time, expertise and sweat to help, I would expect the organizers to take care of transportation. If the Big Guy needed me there, he will give the church the guidance to the money to get my ass there.

You kinda have to look at it from both sides. Church missions are mostly crowd funded to begin with. That's part of the main "job" of the church is to spread the word of their faith locally, and once they get to a certain size, globally. Raising money for that in mind is the reason they have tax exemptions. Not for huge "mega churches" with pastors driving around in a Rolls. So I can see why OP seen no harm or fowl with continuing that pursuit here, especially with so many "well off" members.

The failure here is that unlike Facebook/Instagram or any other form of social media is you are unisolated. You aren't spreading around to people on your "friends list". A large portion of people these days look at religion in general with hostility by default. It's a political talking point now, and much like politics gets people heated. Too many religious wack jobs have tainted the reputation of any and all religions here in the States. Like WBC, or those clowns "building the arc" and arguing the world literally, or the "mega churches" mentioned previously, those that force their religion into their politics, and not to mention those killing in the name of their "gods".

Unfortunately it seems the Christian churches have done seemingly nothing to attempt to repair that reputation. Atleast not in a meaningful way.
