2025 iForce Max TRD OR - at just over 1,000 miles was coming into town and had someone pull out in front of me, I didn't have to break hard but more aggressive than normal and the tires locked up (seemed like the front but was hard to tell), no ABS lights but tires screeched. Thought it was perhaps the road or something else so just ignored. A week later it happend again, slowing down from 45 - 30mph. So I tried to make it happen and got it to do it again under moderate breaking slowing down, again at 30mph. Happend again on the interstate coming into Cincy with heavy traffic. VERY unnerving to have the tires lock up hard enough to screech the tires. Have an appointment in a week. Will keep everyone informed.

Also worth noting that the tranny kicks HARD when manuvering into parking spots where I have to go from D to R and back. My first Toyota since my FJ years ago. Not a great way to start this relationship with my first Taco.

Check tire inflation - there are many stories of them delivered with more like 50 PSI than the OR model's 32 PSI cab placard. Otherwise you are describing how all the 4th generation 8 speed automatics behave.

That's still 5 PSI above the door placard for a TRD OR. Always recorded and set cold, done 32 PSI in colder months, and now in heat of summer I use the 30 PSI recommended by Toyota. By percentage, you are 10%+ out of range.

I also have a tread depth gauge and that 30-32 PSI seems to aid consistent wear.

Maybe this is a thing too? Your load and wheelbase. There's definitely a split in ownership where some use their pickups like their cars, others are more work oriented. When we did lots of testing we also noticed the superior ride and handling with long bed models.

Good luck.

I have a 2025 hybrid and when you shift from Drive to Reverse you have to be perfectly stopped. If you're moving slightly forward, there is a clunck from transmission/hybrid system. I've noticed the reverse is done in electric mode, gas engine is off.

I run 35 lbs in my E rated AT's and haven't noticed that problem at all. 32 lbs creates too much unnecessary tire wear, IMO.
