That's a bummer. The positional swap was sounding promising.

There’s a glimmer of hope. This morning the sensors were back to working and have worked fine this whole day. Fingers crossed the ECU or whatever controls the sensors needed some time to pick up that the sensors had been swapped and working correctly now. Only time will tell. In the mean time I still have one thing up my sleeve before recalibrating it. Removing the spray paint and using new nylon spacers on the sensors incase I’ve accidentally crushed one or drew one in to tight. Thanks for all your help I’ll keep it posted here.

If I recall from when @Gurvy522 recalibrated his parking/proximity sensors, the calibration procedure creates an association of which sensor serial number is in which location, and what's it's install angles are. So if you didn't track which was Outer-Left, Inner-Left, Inner-Right, Outer-Right then you might be in for a real treat of swap and monitor. Or needing to iterate the calibration procedure under the new positions and bumper.

Hello
So glad to find this thread as I'm going through it to.
I had an ADD bumper installed on my 2025 tacoma with the performance package. It has the BSM sensors aka blind side sensors.
I had mine professionally installed.
I drove it home and it was ok for a day then I got the same sensor errors you did.
After going back and forth with ADD having me disconnect wiring and battery over and over. Shaving down posts to get the sensor to stick out more. Nothing worked.
I took it to a calibration shop and they said the sensors were off angle by 6° plus and minus each side.
After that I took it to toyota and yes paid 1300.00 to fix the issue.
First round I took the truck home and it only lasted a day.
The errors came back and I brought it back to toyota.
This time they had to take the bumper off and shim the sensor to get the angle within the 3° tolerance. That's tight!

FYI yes the sensor are left and right and need to stay in that orientation as they are calibrated in that position.

Also I used vinyl wrap to cover mine as I think it's more protection than paint.

There is so much i have to say as I don't like the way ADD is handling this.
The bumper is not entirely compatible. They specify it is but in terms of agreement they mention no liability on calibration.

I think they need to make it known that your going to need calibration.
And most likely it will have to be at a shop that can take measurements on the bench, see what needs to be corrected, make the corrections, and proceed with calibration.

I haven't found one person that has this bumper with these sensors that has come to me on these threads with a successful install.

Anybody have one that works out of the box?

The real bummer is the bumper looks great. I don't want to return it.
So i have to make it work even if it costs more than the bumper itself...hahaha

I can't think of a reason for the speaker to cause issue with the sensors. Were all of the sensors placed back into their original locations? I would not think it matters, but if they are capable of being calibrated, maybe they are sensitive to location.

The images of the ADD bumper, in their instructions, still has the Toyota part markings barely visible so it's definitely a light coat. Since the OEM installed location is going through painted plastic, it may be the type of paint that is causing an issue.
paint with metal is a big problem.
i just stayed away paint and used vinyl wrap.

So I swapped out the sensors and checked the wire harness for pinched or shorted out wires. I didn’t run a continuity test but I might do that.
So it didn’t work. I’m thinking it’s either the spray paint or the system needs to be calibrated. What’s funny is this morning the system came back on and worked for about 20 miles and then went back off again.
i like how yours comes back on, mine never came back on.
it might be that your bsm position is right on the edge of passing.
have you talked to the master tech at ADD?
my feeling is, any bumper change even a stock bumper change is going to require a trip to toyota to have them measure, correct, and calibrate.
im wondering whats going to happen when i get 32" tires. is the change in hight going to trigger a recalibration?

I have the ADD front bumper with bull bar deal. It's garbage. Horrible fit, needed a lot of modification to even get it on, and then the winch is completely inaccessible. Worst purchase I've made modifying a car/truck.

I tried selling it, no one wants it.. It's dialed in now, but even for 600 bucks, no one.

I'm only chiming in to say it's not you, it's not that one item, ADD just doesn't care about it's customers.

In my pic you can see my ADD front bumper. I like it, but i had a pro install it with baja lights
I had no problems with the front bumper, but later I'll want a wench. I hope there's no issues.

I love the look of the ADD front/rear bumpers but this thread and @Fenman’s thread on TW will steer me back towards the OE offered ARB rear bumpers for the Pro and TrailHunter. I, too have the package with all the sensors and the last thing I want to deal with is this calibration headache.

Good luck guys.

I just went to toyota to pick up my truck.
They sent me home, the right side sensor still off.
They have to basically change the angle position, scope it, reset and drive around and see if it holds.
So far it's not holding.

It's Friday toyota still has my truck.

I looked at the ARB bumpers that toyota sells. They're ok, but the ADD looks better and it accommodates the baja lights.

I'm going to have toyota keep working on the ADD bumper.

update:
still not working but im getting major support now from ADD
i have the truck at Toyota and the head tech at ADD is going to call toyota tomorrow to get to the bottom of the problem.

i got some info from the tech.
he said that you really should not calibrate, and ill need to get the truck back to a factory bumper setting. at the point the ADD bumper can be put on and just adjusting the bumper should get it dialed in.
seems simple right?
let me tell you its not, and thats why its just a good idea to buy the ADD bumper from the Toyota parts dept and have Toyota install it, as your going to need to move that bumper in just the right position to work, and Toyota can do it and will warranty the install.

toyota did say that when they installed the same bumper in 2025 on the same truck they did have to do alot of calibration, so there lies a big RUB!

to calibrate or not calibrate that is the question.

ADD says no calibration and they have alot of reasons why that make sense.
Toyota on the other-hand has installed this bumper and its working great to this day and they calibrated the hell out of it...hahaha

there is one important thing the tech at ADD said. you cant rule out a loose pin on a connector.
i looked at my connectors and i couldn't tell what was going on there...im use to audio connectors like EADC for a recording studio.....the car thing is a mystery to me.

ill keep this updated until its fixed.

ADD bumper does look the best, at least to me.

I would not feel comfortable with the sensors out in the open like that. I realize this is not what you want to hear but maybe look into ARB with the Rigid lights using SPV harness so you can run the whites separately using aux 1.

my ADD has some really bright baja lights on a separate switch to.

I looked at the OE ARB bumper. It really doesn't look much better than the stock one.

I prefer ADD for design and looks.
