In case you missed it. They upgraded the plan a few months ago. $50/mo for 100gb. For $5/mo you can "idle" the antenna which lets you use if for email and emergencies. A buddy uses the $5 plan for just about everything.

If you're connected via a cable to the infotainment, you can be on wifi and CarPlay simultaneously.
I never do that- so I'll have to figure out how to use it with the cable.

FYI if you already have starlink home, keep an eye on your emails. I received my starlink mini free because I already have it for home use.

I will have to look into this. I let mine cancel for this month because I didn't really have a need for it but I tried to use it and I guess since it isn't idle I don't have any service at all.
Edit- I don't see an "idle" option, and my plan options don't include $50/100gb. I have 50gb for $65:

Do you have the Starlink Mini or the regular Starlink residential? I believe the $5 standby plan can only be had with the Mini, not the residential.

EDIT: NVMD. I'm wrong. Should be able to use it with all Starlinks.

This is the one I've used for about 8 months now; printed in ABS and stainless steel hardware. I take my dish off when I'm not using it.

The only other thing I can think is that you may have to have an active plan before you can put it on "standby". So, maybe pay for a month at your normal rate and then see if it gives you the option of putting it on standby.

I will say, for me standby gives me plenty of bandwidth to read email and whatnot, which is all I care about 90% of the time. I'll spring for full data only when I'm making extended trips with my camper.
