Update: swapped the ADO springs back in at the rear, and moved over the rubber sleeves from the stock springs to the ADO springs. No more rattling when going over bumps :like:

I am having the same rattle / squeak noise. I did not remove the spring insulators from my OEM springs. When you added them to the AOD springs did you put them in the same location as the factory springs? Thank you for figuring this out. The rattle squeak is driving me mad.

Yes, same location. The sound stopped after doing so.

Are these the spring insulators you guys speak of? :wait:

Yes. Remove those from the old springs and install them on the new ones. You could probably use a bit of contact glue to hold them in place but so far mine stayed in place on the new springs for a couple of years w/o any adhesive so I don't think it's critical.

I noticed that there are 2-3 other insulators along the springs. Did you replace all of them on the new springs? Or just the top ones?

I would do them all. The bottom may be the most important since it's immediately tensioned when the spring compresses but ultimately it's not going to hurt to put on all three.

I just replaced my original Dobinson's springs that I've had installed for the past couple of years. I obviously should have went with heavier springs from the get-go (this picture is the 819) but you get the idea. There is wear from where the spring was fully compressed over and over again. Although I never noticed any creaking noises it's fairly obvious this is one spot the insulators may have helped (or the constant overload may have just worn through the insulator....).

Really interesting. I was able to swing by my mechanic’s today (a hour ago when I was asking you!) while running some errands. I brought the old springs and some new rear shock mount skids and trailing arm skids.

They were able to get all the insulators on, as well as the skids in about an hour. Noise seems to have completely gone away, though I haven’t tested it on the harsh speed bumps that would routinely produce this noise.

Thank you so much for the help!
