Man I don't know if I'd want my truck to turn up again if it got stolen.

I'd rather it just disappear and I haggle with insurance to get a decent sized check minus deductible.

Cause I'm glad you got your truck back, but now it's an extra headache cause they're probably gonna cover the damage, and you're out $$$ because the Carfax is fked.

Since it's not a total loss (I assume), see if you can't get a diminished value claim going.

Truck was found in Huntington Park.
Thank you everyone for your replies and input, it’s appreciated.
Rear passenger window was shattered, speakers and mic don’t seem to be working and my backup camera doesn’t work. Stuff stolen (duh)and also can’t reactivate it in the app
But at least the truck is in mostly one piece and it runs

I’m glad you got it back. Sorry you have to go through this. It sucks. I used to live in your area at the Beverly/Temple/Silver Lake intersection area on Commonwealth. The little fuckers broken into my car eight times until I gave up and moved after a year. Broke into my partner‘s car too. At least the rent was affordable in those days (late 80s). Thieves fucking suck.

Nothing hanging out, but the plastic trim next to the door sill was yanked off so whatever wiring harness runs along there was exposed.

Any idea how it was stolen? I assume you tried to locate it with the app?

I really don’t have a clue. My key was way too far for them to amplify it or duplicate it or whatever.
I was having issues with the app because I had just reactivated my subscription for the nav and it wasn’t generating a QR code so nothing was working right in there.

needless to say I ordered a kill switch kit last night so I’ll try setting that up. Might even install two just for shits, one for the starter and one for the fuel pump.
