Took my TrailHunter to the dealership for the first time today. They broke it.

Took my truck in for the first service. Took them 4.5 hours to give me an update. When I asked about what's taking so long, the "Master Tech" said he doesn't know what happened but the lights on the dash lit up and it wouldn't/couldn't start. I don't know what could've happened but they've still got my truck. All they needed to do was oil change/tire rotation/alignment. How the heck did they break it???

They close in an hour. Hopefully someone does something.

Wonder if you have any of the recalls out and they tried "fixing" that for you?

Maybe. If that were the case, it seems I was better off with the recall unfixed than "fixed".

Good luck @tgrneal! I keep my truck away from the dealers unless something is absolutely necessary, because I don't trust them at all. But open recalls are a problem when you are ready to sell and every time they touch my truck I wonder WTF will happen.

This actually sounds really similar to what happened on my 2025 Trailhunter a couple weeks ago. I got the full dash light-up, “Visit Your Dealer,” and it wouldn’t start either. The weird part was that the first code it threw pointed to the Mass Air Flow Sensor, but that wasn’t the real issue at all.

In my case, the truck freaked out over something way simpler — and the ECU basically shut everything down as a protective measure.

These 4th Gens are super sensitive to anything involving airflow readings, voltage dips, or connectors not being fully seated after service. Even something tiny can cascade into a no-start condition.

If you’re curious what actually caused mine (and how I fixed it), I recorded the whole thing because I had the same “How did this even happen?” reaction you did:
📺 Full breakdown:

Not saying it’s the same issue as yours — but the symptoms you described are almost identical to what I saw. Definitely keep us posted when they call you back. I’m interested to hear what they say was the root cause.

You know I watched you video and thought to myself “keep this in mind”. I forgot all about it. Perhaps that was the reason. The “master technician” had zero idea. Also, he told me not to trust the forums; that y’all have no idea and aren’t technicians lol. So I got my truck back. I believe it’s all good now but I waited 10 hours for stuff that was supposed to be simple.

They probably forgot to add oil.
My thoughts exactly. Just watched "I do cars" this past Sunday (Youtube) as I always do every Sunday morning while enjoying my coffee.

Car brought into dealer for oil change, forgot to add oil then started it up. Guess you can figure out the rest cuz there it is on an engine stand about to be tore a part.
