First off, I’m new to this forum but not new to Toyota trucks. Over the years I’ve owned a 1988, 1996 taco, 2000 tundra, 2003 taco and 2011 tundra, all of which were lifted and modified. So my question, Im Looking at buying a 2025 or 2026 TRD offroad taco and really like the idea of a factory installed lift kit but notice that it is not available with the iforce max engine. So, if you had a choice between the factory lift or the iforce max engine, which would you choose?

Im honestly not sure if the factory lift is only on gas models. Im on the regular trd off road suspension and it easily fits 33s.

One way to look at it is that you cannot install the hybrid components after the fact but you can always change suspension. And Id also be willing to bet you can buy that exact oem lift from the Toyota parts website for significantly less than what is charged as an add-on. Especially with the black friday deal every year.

I have never driven a gas model, but my hybrid scoots. Very fun to drive

Pick your power. I really like the iForce Max. I wanted the underseat storage. The factory lift in my 4x4 SR5 is fine until I add 2” or so. Wasn’t excited about the hybrid on the first year though it’s not a deal breaker.

That is definitely one way of looking at it. I actually work at a shop that installs accessories so I could definitely install lift there. I was just thinking lazy and just getting the factory installed lift and bolting on some wheels and tires. I haven’t driven either one yet. I like to do my research before I actually sit down with the dealer. I will be trading in a Subaru crosstrek that I bought years ago when I had a longer commute. I still own a ford superduty I use for towing so I am also open t

Pretty sure the Pro and Trailhunter both come standard with a lift. I'm certain about the TH. The TH has the hybrid. Haven't looked at the Pro.

I think I would get tired of listening to that snorkel on the trail hunter and I don’t care for the lack of rear legroom or the glossy black fender flairs on the pro. I do like the look of the pro but them flairs are gonna get scratched easily. I believe these models have a 1” lift vs the factory installed lift on the regular Trd off-road is 3” front and 2” rear

The added torque of the i-Force Max is definitely a grin maker. A lift can always be added after the fact, not so much the drivetrain.

I drove a TH and the tq difference of the iforce max wasn’t noticeable just putting around, you have to put your foot into it to feel a real difference between the engines, at least that’s what I think. YMMV…

You can add the lift later. But you can’t add the Iforce Max. Get the hybrid.

hybrid > gas. Awesome torque plus as long as trailhunters and pros keep trading in the mid $60’s then resale will be strong! There are plenty of after market lift options for a fraction of the price. I follow on YouTube 88 rotors off road and they crank out lifts/wheels etc for Tacomas/4runners. I’d reach out to them and pick their brains on recommendations.

You can always add a lift later. Hybrid torque makes the truck a much better user experience when driving around town.
