Pull the rack and bars off and see if that makes a difference. If it does, then you can decide which is more important, fuel efficiency or having them mounted all the time.

I have a smartcap with a low-profile rack on it that costs me about .5mpg so I don't care. If I ever decide I need a rack on the cab, it's going to be one where the crossbars can be removed.

I do a 1000-mile round trip every couple of months to see family (~400 mi country highway 55-65 mph, 600 mi freeway 70 - 75 mph). Last time I checked I got 22.8 mpg.

Only other thing I can suggest is to find a 50+ mi stretch of highway with few or no stops and little traffic. max 65 mph if possible. Fill tank and reset trip odometer and mpg meter. Do a round-trip using cruise control to manage the throttle (set acceleration to low in settings). Then fill up again and calculate mpg.
That should indicate whether its driving conditions or something about the truck itself.

She's driving a heavy vehicle with the aerodynamics of a shipping container.

My 3rd gen averages 18mpg, and that's more highway than city.

Freeway drive TRD OR wheels and tires on an SR, full skids under and no air dam, Diode lights on the bumper. Was going less than 70 the whole drive, had a few slow downs to 30mph.

you guys gotta slow down lol

also oncoming wind will demolish your mpg, it basically stacks the speed of your truck

65mph + 15mph wind = 80mph equivalent, which means you're gonna get about 20mpg if not less at 65.

6k on a 6MT Off-Road, averaging ~20.5mpg which I find acceptable given the capability of the truck. Still on stock tires though.
Most accessories so far have added weight, but some seem to offset the weight through reduced aero drag.
Tonneau cover slightly improved mpg, and despite the millercat steel skid plates adding weight, mpg remained the same.
My 6MT is getting about the same as Andrace's. I do think the tonneau cover is helping a little.

I’m pretty happy if I can baby the throttle enough to get a tank average north of 17.5 mpg (and it’s usually less). Wheels, tires, skid plates, air dam removal all contributed to the decline, but at least my truck looks good. 🤓

The real mpg killer are the highway/tollway speeds around here. 90mph on open stretches is super common.
