Fox shocks are set to 1 and tire pressure at 26 (!)

The ride is ok... mostly what I dont like is the ride height and what comes with it like more lean, stiffer springs to control the extra two inches it has vs the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro...

Do you think there could be more lean because the shocks are at the lowest setting and the tires are only at 26PSI?

I think that is possible. My truck was delivered on the middle setting and it was a good while before I tried the softest setting. I hated it and thought that my truck floated too much and felt like an old American luxury car. I changed it back to the middle setting and I like it much better. I even considered trying the firmest off road setting. The same goes for the tires, which are way under inflated which would degrade the handling and will cause premature tire wear.

@james cole You might want to try increasing the inflation to Toyota's recommendation and trying setting number 2 on the shocks and see if it handles better. It will still be taller than you like, but that is actually a feature of the Pro, not a bug.

I'd try number 2 or even 3 on the shocks and raising up the air pressure to 32-35psi.

The way your truck is setup right now, it's setup to be as soft and compliant as possible. Like ride washboard for 8+ hours straight. Bet you it feels like a boat or an old 60's car.

If you do decide to go with the TRD OR Bilstein’s, I’d be willing to discuss helping make the switch. I’m in Ft Worth area

Just saw this thread. I am thinking of doing an adjustable height suspension on my 2025 Off road. That way I can get better highway fuel efficiency and jack it up when going off road. But considering the price it'll wait a few years at least, already have a long list of mods to take care of first

To those that have a Pro, it sits too high and handles too bad… its a pain to get into the truck and I am a tall guy…

Having a 2025 4Runner pro it handles much better and sits about two inches lower…

Is there a way to lower the Tacoma Two inches without sacrificing ride quality?

Any suggestions?
I totally wanna lower mine too.
😂
I'm sure its gonna be a long wait before we get a complete plug and play set.

As far as the ride quality… did you adjust the shocks to the softest setting? That’s where I keep mine and I think it rides pretty well for a lifted truck

How much of an improvement in hwy mpg from this custom adjustable suspension are you expecting to get?

Well according do chat GPT, a 2 inch drop with would yield a 1-3% gain, and a 2 inch air dam to it could yield a gain of 4-8%. Depending on the rigidity of the air dam the gains vary (stiffer = better). Add to that some wheel spats, clean up underbody airflow, fill the "holes" in the stock rock rails to reduce turbulence. Gonna experiment doing a kammback or fastback with the tonneau cover as well but that's a bit more work. Adding all that I'm hoping at least a 15-20% total gain.

Which adjustable suspension system are you going with?

Yeah… they are all set on “1” … but I understand lifted truck have to be harsher to maintain some control with such high COG.

For some reason I wont get into, the efficiency gains do not work like that…

Your experiment will end up in tears…

Hope I saved you a lot of time and some money!

I'm talking about highway travel of course, I know that at lower speeds aerodynamics have a much smaller effect. And it's not only about the destination, it's the journey 😁

I'm not decided on that yet, that mod would be a "nice to have" but considering the costs and the work involved, it would probably be easier to fit a detachable "body kit" for highway driving that can be removed when going off road, something that could hook into the rockrails to hide them from the airflow at the same time, but considering it's freezing here right now and I don't have an inside garage to sit besides the truck and think on how I'm going to do this, the actual mods are probably going to wait until spring, on the meantime I'm "throwing stuff at the wall" and seeing what could stick
