Dealer said nothing wrong with my Pro vibrating and drifting to the right. Claims alignment is good but service advisor couldn’t provide me any specs from the checker. When pressed the service manager said they couldn’t test because alignment checker wasn’t updated for 25 model year and claims specs for 2024 are different. As far as the vibrations they are blaming it on the all terrain tires which they say is normal. I called bs on both and said if it’s the tires then let me drive the Trailhunter they have on the lot so I can see if it vibrates like my Pro and service manager quickly said they have different suspension . Now I guess I have to find another local dealer that can run it through the alignment checker.
For the hard shifting they said they couldn’t reproduce but said to drop it off at night and they could test it the next morning while it is cold.
There is no difference between the 24"s and the 25"s with regards to suspension and tire configuration,

My ‘25 Limited is a week old and less than 300 miles. I feel like it tracks straight but the wheel is slightly tilted to the right. Making me crazy. If I center the wheel, it’s pulling left. Taking it in tomorrow morning.

If the crown of the road naturally pulls you right, there should be a left correction. Instead I’m correcting right.

Your steering wheel needs to be centered, super easy job!

So it turns out my front toes were out of spec. Had to hold the wheel to the right to get it to go straight. They tried to give me the “crown of the road” argument but my corrections were opposite of what they were trying to explain. Tech ran it and said it needs an alignment. Day 6 of ownership. 242 total miles.

Feeling better and not so much like the crazy person they were acting like I was.

This thread is about the PRO. Very different from a Limited.

Finally had a chance to take my 2025 Pro back to the dealer for another alignment attempt. This time they agreed it’s pulling to the right and 4 hours later it still pulls to the right, at least if not worse than before. Steering wheel now seems to point to the right when holding the truck in a straight line.

Man, the theme seems to be that dealers are completely useless and incompetent.
I wouldn’t necessarily automatically blamed dealerships if they’re not being towed the correct information from Toyota themselves, I believe that was the case in my situation and my TH, and I believe that’s why they were having so much problem because information was conflicting with one another for corporate.

I don’t blame the dealer for the problem, but the first time I took it in they did nothing and said everything was fine and that even if something was wrong they couldn’t do anything until their alignment machine was updated for the 2025 model year. But notice my spec sheet printout shows 2024, so they could have run it the last time I was in.

I also don’t have any specs for caster….anyone have thoughts on why?

I have 2025 Limited that constantly pulls to the passenger side. After 3 dealer alignments, they had the District Tech/Rep come look at things and he decided it's a "characteristic" of the new Tacoma with no known fix. They even let me test drive another new 2025 on the lot that had the exact same problem. The only current option is to open a ticket with Toyota Corporate to document the issue. If you're seeing this problem, I would encourage you to call Toyota at 800-331-4331 and create a case. The more we all complain, maybe Toyota will eventually find a fix.

OK, it is a characteristic of the 4th gens and can't be fixed. Does that mean I need to have them figure out why my truck tracks straight and true? According to that logic there has to be something wrong with my truck, or it would drive like crap. There seems to be something seriously wrong with Toyota these days.

I feel much better now, I’d be sick to my stomach knowing I paid $68k to get one of these trucks that tracked straight.

Thanks for the advice I am going to open a case with Toyota next week.
