Purchased my 2024 in February of 2024, probably was one of the very first in California as we were late to receive them here and have traveled 27k trouble free miles in it mostly commenting using the excellent dynamic cruise control exclusively for my tough California commute. The cruise control has made my 70-mile round trip much easier with just the locational tug on the wheel to let it know I am still there. My only complaints would be the ~19mpg, small tank and several recalls.

For those of you who dislike 4 cylinders, or even the sound of this engine under the hood, I too feel the same way. I'm am NOT a 4 cylinder type of person. I will tell you that sitting @ 30k miles now, my engine is very quiet now. It, in no way sounds like it did early on in its life. So there's hope for you!

Purchased in April 2024, 11,000 miles SR5.
Transmission was replaced under 2000 miles, had to fight the dealership to get it replaced before the TSB was issued.

Second one is starting to behave just like the first one. Cannot duplicate concern is the standard service department response.
Paint quality is horrible. Celestial silver.
Good power and handling. The Tacoma is a good truck! Things could have been done better. Toyota’s customer service is not great.
Great constructive conversation always on Tacoma 4G.

Gas tank size, not a ton of interior storage. Everything else is amazing, really love the Hybrid powertrain. Love how easily it pushes and I was able to fit 37's.

Electrical issues are my biggest fight and gripe right now.

Purchased vehicle used at 17k miles and drove it for about 1 month and put additional 1k miles before I had to get my IP harness replaced for a plethora of warning lights. It was with the dealership for about three weeks. Once I got it back, I had issues with the dash amp shorting out. It is once again with the dealership and they are looking to replace the speakers. Sitting there for a week currently.

Never really got to enjoy the truck
I can relate to this. My battery was going dead after four days of sitting in my garage. It took the dealer 4 months to fix it and many trips back and forth to the shop. It ended up being a bad JBL amplifier. Other than that I love the truck though.

Coming up on 2 years, 30k miles. Main complaint is the gas tank size needing frequent fill ups. Rear seat leg room small but it's also a mid size and I was considering a Tundra but it was way too big for my needs. Coming from a sport car I did find it a bit slow but its also a long bed off road, OTT tune did help.

🧡 Hybrid Engine Power
🧡 Design & Paint Color, I get a ton of compliments on it!
🧡 Interior Comfort
👎 Fuel Tank Capacity is silly small
👎 Scratchy-Prone Plastic Trim on a nearly $60k truck

Interesting. So the amp was draining the battery somehow? My battery went completely dead after a week in the garage. Dealership said that was totally normal nowadays. They checked the battery and sent me on my way. Makes me wonder…

2025 TRD-OR 6MT. Purchased March 2025. 24,000 miles so far, including a long trip to Canada (Yukon, NT) and Alaska.

There really isn't much to hate. Gas tank and fuel range is, of course, a joke. I've ordered an auxiliary tank to solve this issue.

I see there are comments about back seat leg room. I didn't purchase the truck to transport people. My rear seat was removed and replaced with the Goosegear rear seat delete.

As far as power ... I came from a 22RE. Even after loading it up with heavy tires, bumpers and a camper I was pleased. I'm not the kind of fella that needs a giant V8. Of course, the Cobb/Cam Performance tune helped a lot.

My local dealer is very aggressive with messages to bring the truck in for service.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you order your auxiliary tank from?

I pre-ordered from the link below. I've been watching their site for a month or so since they had tanks for the GX, LC250, and 4R, which are essentially on the same platform. They told me a tank for the Tacoma was coming out shortly. Keep in mind this is a spare tire replacement, not a factory replacement.

Expensive? Yes, but for me it's not an option for the way I adventure.

Note that Long Range America is also working on a tank. They tend to make larger tanks, in the 33 gallon range. The second link will take you to their wait list page where you can sign up for notification when the tank makes it to market.

I've had mine for just over 2 years now, I'll hit 40k miles in the next week or two. No big gripes, nothing that I hate about the truck except it does chip a bit easily.. but considering how much abuse it goes through at work and on the trails I'm not really complaining.
