What’s up guys! Our first YouTube video just dropped, and we’re kicking things off with a full install overview of the TK500 turbo kit for the new-generation Toyota 2.4T engine.

We used our 2025 TRD Pro Hybrid 4Runner for this video, but from experience I can tell you the install is exactly the same for the 4th Gen Tacoma.

If you’re interested in Toyota tuning, Toyota power upgrades, or Tacoma power upgrades, this video walks through the TK500 turbo install and gives you a closer look at what it takes to add performance to Toyota’s latest turbo platform.

This one was filmed with no rehearsals and no retakes, just going off memory during the install. I did misspeak on a few bolts, nuts, and small details, but you’ll still get the full gist of the process.

Check it out, enjoy the video, and stay tuned for more Toyota performance, turbo upgrades, and Tacoma tuning content coming soon!

You can find the 4th Gen Tacoma bolt on turbo upgrade here.

So what kind of power gains can be expected?
I don't think that is the correct question. Expected? I would want to know actual gains, and how it changed the power band, not a guess.

Yes, that is what was meant by expected. This is what, the third or fourth post on aftermarket turbos, and at least the second vehicle that has had one added, but still no dyno results? I'm assuming the 4Runner had to be tuned for the new turbo so I'm surprised we've been given no numbers.

I agree, it is very strange that all these companies are trying to sell their aftermarket big turbos but no body is posting the actual performance numbers. This video he states that it is capable of 500hp which I find really hard to believe. I would never drop $5000+ on any of these kits if I have no idea how much hp/tq I would actually be getting. Maybe the juice just isn't worth the squeeze on these motors and that's what they are trying to hide until after you have bought and paid for the kit. All of these companies have shown the trucks running and driving on their social media, so how hard could it be to dyno one and post the results??

We understand everyone’s viewpoint on this trust me. This was to show the install process of it.

Ad stated in the video, we’re waiting on one final piece of the puzzle before we get it on the rollers, expected to have it on the dyno & numbers out in a few weeks

I seem to recall one aftermarket turbo put on a dyno. I don't remember the specifics, but the conclusion was the larger turbo wasn't worth it. I wish I could remember where I saw that.

I believe Cam Tuning was working on developing a turbo, but had to return to the drawing board because the new turbo was inefficient and/or actually produced less power/boost. I'm only recalling this from memory, so I may be slightly wrong.

@Big Dawgs Toyota Tuning - instead of being cryptic in your replies, i.e., "waiting on one more piece of the puzzle...", why don't you just offer transparency and explain to your potential customer base what you are working on, what to expect, etc.?

I am going all in on the performance upgrades for our trucks, but I agree with everyone else, the lack of concrete dyno results and additional information regarding these turbos and downpipes makes me very hesitant to pull the trigger.

I think CamTuning did this but the turbo was broken.

We gotta build suspense, bro!

All seriousness the throttle body elbow for the 2.4T engine that’s being produced by us is what we’re waiting for to showcase the full package. You can see it here.

We’ll have it in hand within the next week or so. Following that we’ll get it out to @JustDSM and let him work his magic with it when he’s available to do.

It's the vague data that lures you into making a purchase.

I have developed the opinion that outside of a tune, which isn't cheap either, that there are a lot of products you can spend your money on and really only get nominal results.
you know what they say about opinions

one singular mod (other than a tune) isn’t going to have a HUGE result alone, it’s combination of them where you see them all start to come together.
