“I noticed there was some sort of smoke and the lack of power, I thought, well, that’s kind of strange."

The T24A-FTS had enough and ejected a rod through the crankcase lol

I wonder if it was actually serviced.. 32,000km is 20,000 miles which is probably about as long as one of these would go on zero oil changes from factory.

I think the guy said it was recently serviced. Kinda makes sense because the recommended major service interval is 1yr or 16k..which ever comes first.

OpenAi thinks a rodent chewed through something. I tend to agree, very rare lighting strike type scenario for a gen 4. Let’s see what Toyota discovers…

sorry tho, 20k is not new. I have a ‘24 taco with 7k and it’s not new. Subpar reporting.

those OG gen 4 guys buying out of state and tranny dies w/300mi — that’s new.

It’s not subpar reporting, it’s reporting what the driver of the company truck said.
Reading into what he meant is the company bought two 2024 Tacomas new. The mileage may be 32,000 km but they are less than a year old so still considered new to the company.

I still consider my almost year old Tacoma new with 20,000 km on it. To anyone else it’s used. After a year I’d consider it used too.

The rodent theory is a good one. There has been an explosion of rats in the cities and urban areas around here. I’m not far from where this happened. Could have even been a fuel leak in the engine bay caused by rodent damage.

Good theory. Rodents have eaten through more than one of my fuel lines and unless you regularly do inspections you don't see the damage until something leaks.

All I did was take it in to have the bsm software fix done and they had to take my whole dash apart because they effed it up….. I wonder if that would have anything to do with…..😬
