Well, regarding sensor swap. Bumper has to come off to get to outer sensors.

having issue finding replacement parts for plastic bumper pads that cover bolts to hold bumper down……. I know that these won’t come off cleanly and will need replacement. So now, pay for calibration or keep searching for replacement pads

those are your part numbers for each of the three step pads.

Can you put the little ARB lights in the bumper with it installed or do you have to remove it?

thank you!

Will give it a shot to carefully remove pads knowing I can replace if needed.

I believe so, I plan to add lights soon

They come off real easy. There is a clip on the inside that slides out and the sensor comes right out. The brfacket theey sit in would need work to get out. However, the one's provided with the bumper are for thee same size sensor so I used new Brackets and old sensors

Sensor swap is not the issue, access to the outside sensors, with the bumper installed the plastic blind spot monitor covers make it impossible to access to the parking sensor. These blind spot covers cant be removed with the bumper installed.

I did try connecting the scanner I have to the OBDII port and see if by chance I could adjust anything, but didnt know which parameters, so left if alone.

Original sensors installed! and all works again as it did orginally.

Thanks for the great write-up. This seems as good a place as any to ask my question. I picked up a 2026 SR. No BSM, no sonar. I want to install this bumper, the non-sonar PT989-3524E. I get into the instructions and they say you MUST have BSM to install this bumper.

Can anyone tell me why? Is it because the wiring harnesses are catered to BSM only? I feel like since I have the most basic harness ever, just tow plug and plate lights, I don’t see why there would be a hangup for me trying to install this. Surely there isn’t a physical frame mounting difference for bumpers based on BSM? I’m not scared to lengthen or shorten my harness as needed to make it work with the bumper, but if it won’t bolt up for some reason due to not having BSM, that’s what I need to know.

I have a feeling it’s just because of the harnesses, but I need someone with more expertise to answer. Otherwise I may just risk the money and order it and see what happens. I really want lighting on the back of my truck as the stock backup lights are horrible for illumination and I need help back there badly.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I do have a question maybe those with a trailhunter can answer. There is an unused connector that clips to a bracket on the pasenger side of the bumper. I am guessing it is for accessories like lights. Anyone know for sure?

I believe it for for one of your AUX switches.
