Anyone have any experience with these shocks vs the 5100s, I don’t believe they have come out just yet but are supposed too soon.
Curious if holding off is worth it or not.
How big up an upgrade is the 6112 vs the 5100.
Thank you.

Gemini (did not fact check) ⬇

"Performance Breakdown:
Ride Quality: Both shocks use digressive valving, which firms up handling and reduces body roll. On pavement, they feel very similar. However, the 6112 is generally more forgiving over small road imperfections and speed bumps due to its larger piston.
Off-Road Capability: The 6112 shines in "high-speed" dirt environments or sustained rough trails. Its larger oil capacity prevents overheating (shock fade), whereas the 5100 may struggle and feel more "harsh" during prolonged aggressive use.
Installation: The 5100 requires you to reuse your factory springs, which often involves using a spring compressor. Many 6112 kits come pre-assembled with new springs, making for a safer and faster "bolt-on" installation.
Final Recommendation
Choose the Bilstein 5100 if you want a cost-effective way to level your truck, improve on-road handling, and occasionally hit light forest service roads.
Choose the Bilstein 6112 if you plan on regular off-roading, carry heavy bumpers/gear, or want a "bottomless" feel when hitting larger bumps at speed."

6112 are my favorite budget shock. Destroy FOX, Eibach, etc.

best price and performance out there. I'm just waiting for them to drop and they're going on instantly.

Idk man, depends on your money situation and when the 6112s will be released. My $500 5100s make the SR5 look and feel like a whole different truck.

Think I commented on your post yesterday.
I heard the same from a few people curious to see the Offroad difference as I do that a couple times a month

Sweet, well keep us posted! I am absolutely stoked on my 5100s. They're just such an upgrade of stock. I can only imagine the next step up will be even better.
