Garbage? Like the AutoHarnessHouse harness? No, it works as advertised. It removes the power to the DCM so that you're not transmitting data while tricking the ECU into thinking you're out of cell range and not reporting any CELs.Excellent write up by the original poster! I bought the harness from Auto harness house and I want to know is that harness garbage or not? Before I tear into my dash. Thanks for those keeping this thread on track.
GPS plugged in was what I needed to make Android Auto work again, that's been good. I think I need to buy and install the real harness to delete telematics, I'm skeptical that the grounded out signal wires are fully cutting it with how I've gotten some "your truck needs service soon" phone calls and emails. I also am due for my 25k mile service soon, I should go to the dealer and tell them explicitly that I want to opt out of all data collection.Did you get around to testing with GPS still plugged in? That would be the middle wire correct? I appreciate you guys sharing this information. Thanks
That's done off of the vision system that controls the brake assist and some of the adaptive cruise control stuff. Nothing to do with the telematicsI have unplugged and ran the cap system here but everything is still the same. The truck still shows how fast you're going over the speed limit as well as the stop signs etc. At this [oint if the only recourse is to take the fuse out. Any help would be swell
Only one poster has mentioned the AHH bypass didn't work for him. I couldn't see if he updated his post yet.Excellent write up by the original poster! Pulling the fuse kills the front (right? maybe left?) speaker and the microphone capability. Which is why the AHH bypass is recommended.I covered my camera and that other unit behind the dash with some vehicle wrap. Pulled the fuse and.... The truck went nuts with Warnings and lights on the dash. Considering what these POS INSURANCE COMPANIES RAISED my Policy; I can live with the Chrismas tree dash.
YES. I also ordered it but, it hasn't arrived. Going to go "all methods" used on this!Pulling the fuse kills the front (right? maybe left?) speaker and the microphone capability. Which is why the AHH bypass is recommended.
