2024 TRD OR premium hybrid, bought it used. Truck came with the Toyota accessory hard trifold, opening it up all the way blocks the rear view camera feeding the rear view mirror. I assumed that was just the penalty for having a trifold but I saw a post on another forum saying they liked their trifold because it didn’t block the mirror camera. So…is mine just installed too far back?

Mine doesn’t cover the camera feed. Make sure it’s folded correctly. There is some adjustment that can be made to how they’re stacked once it’s folded.

It shouldn't cover the cameras, mine also doesn't. like mentioned, looks like you just need to adjust the tri-fold. Slide it a little back towards the tailgate until it clears the cameras when folded.

Here’s an example of how the panels are folded can block the camera.

Hey, so I tested my trifold again but this time using the prop rod as if I was going to drive with all panels folded. Previously I had only driven with two panels folded and tested the third open but while stationary (without prop rod).

On mine the prop when clicked in it does pull the entire set of panels away from the rear window thereby blocking the cameras. I honestly thought I drove it before and there wasn’t an issue. I did take my truck in to the dealer because my tailgate wasn’t releasing so they could have adjusted my cover rearward. It’s in the same position as yours based on your photos.

Mine is blocked almost exactly like your top mirror image. I’m going to see if I can adjust it the way you have it in the second position. Thanks

same with mine. Once the prop rods are installed the camera is blocked.

I confirmed on mine, camera is only blocked when the props are in, otherwise it’s not blocked but you can’t really drive around without the props. Slid the rails as far as I could before they contacted the tailgate when it’s closed, still blocked.

On another note, is something supposed to keep the rails from sliding back and forth other than the closed tailgate? Cranking down on the mounting bolts doesn’t seem to make it stay in place?

My camera doesn’t get blocked with the OEM tonneau cover folded all the way up, even with the prop rods holding it. I think it mainly happens if the tonneau cover is mounted too close against the back of the cab so that when it’s folded back it stands too vertically and blocks the camera.
